I'm new here. I'm having trouble with the Board's "search" function.

If I try to search for information that is most likely in an older section (I know it is in a thread because I saw it there and then forgot where to find it) I either get a "not found" message or the search engine times out after many minutes with no results.

Example: If I search for "small piece under the tongue" (I've tried it both with and without the quotes). I've tried "SPUT", I've tried "tongue"
I've tried searching the 2004 section. 2003 section, and 2002 section separately and all the sectons en mass.
I've tried changing the "max time since last post number from 7 to 1000 days (in increments.)
I just don't get any positive search results for item(s) I know is in there somewhere.

Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Is there a "tutorial" for the Board's search engine? I've tried using Safari v 1.0.3 or Firefox v1.0.2 via a cable modem with the same results (or lack of.)

It's not you. The Search function doesn't work well when there are lots of people on the board. It works best at 3 AM. What would you like to know about SPUTS?

Thanks Nani. Next time I'm up at 3 AM I'll give it a try :-)

It's not just SPUTS that I want to learn about.

I'll move my specific question(s) to a more appropriate section of the board.
