Title: notice of replies
Post by pjbgravely on Oct 27th, 2002, 8:08pm
Has anyone had a recient problem with notice of replies by e-mail. I suspect that my isp is as fault since at times e-mails to and from certain servers gets blocked.     PJB

...is half responsibility of your server, half of the board itself.

The CGI code of the YaBB board doesn't add the sender to the E-mail that notify the reply.  Some servers cut any message without the sender, to reduce the SPAM.

I have the same problem with the OUCH Italia Forum (approx the same code)

Unfortunately, the send subroutine is really complex, with common sub-subroutines used in many part of the code, so to correct it is pretty impossible.

You could ask your provider if he can switch off the no-sender routine.

Ciao

Hey, PJ, is not (necessarily) a consequence of spamming, is just a decision of your provider.

Ask if he can make an exception for you

Ciao again
