Title: Doing Better
Post by jmc1106 on Oct 10th, 2003, 12:27pm
Well, DH got through yesterday with two "nasty" attacks that he was able to manage, and then just a dull headache the rest of the day. I was all prepared with the pills out and an ice-cold glass of water in the fridge, and then LAST NIGHT HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE! YIPPEE!!! Maybe the Inderal is already working for him. I did call the dr. today and said we have one Maxalt pill left, and should we get more just in case for the weekend? I also mentioned that I was hesitant to do so because of the cost, and did they have any samples? They will give me a couple of samples, so now I feel like we have something to fall back on...but hopefully there won't be any more attacks that are so bad they require the Maxalt. Thanks for the support everybody!

Inderal was the first med that the doc put Dave on... It worked for a couple of cycles if he took it toward the end of the cycle... be sure he is  getting potassium as well.  Meds like that suck up your potassium... It lowers your blood pressure slightly too... Glad that it is working for you... good luck and get some rest love ree

Well, we had two good days, but now there is a constant headache, and the migraines are popping up again...it's odd that now they aren't predictable. He's getting them during the day, and at odd times in the night. He needed the Maxalt last night again at 2 a.m. But it did seem to subside quicker, so that is good news at least. We'll keep it up til we find something that works!
