Title: Well, I THOUGHT I was getting oxygen on Saturday.. Post by 9erfan on Sep 29th, 2003, 2:44pm So, I come home from work on Friday night and there is a note on my door from Apria Healthcare saying that they tried to deliver my oxygen....hmmmm, that's interesting since nobody from there ever called me to tell me that they were delivering. So on Saturday, they are back again. The guy shows up at my door with 2 tiny little portable tanks. And I'm like "what's that?". He's like "aren't you expecting oxygen?". So I ask him "how long does 1 of those tanks last?". And he goes "well, at 2 liters per minute, it would last for 4 hours". 2 liters per minute???? I said, "i need an H tank and I need to use it 10-12 liters per minute for 15 mins at a time". If I tried to use his little tank at 10-12 liters per minute, he'd be back in 15 minutes filling it up!!! What the hell??? So he gets on his little walkie-talkie thing to his home base, and they are arguing with him about what my prescription is for!! The delivery guy is telling him "she's showing me her prescription, and it's not for 2 liters". UGGGHHH!!!!!! The home base guy is like "is this for headaches?? uh yeah, then it should be 2 liters for 12 hours..." WTF????? Unbelievable!!!! So the poor delivery guy was getting quite an earful from me as I tried to educate him on clusters!! I'm sure he didn't care. I'm so frustrated!!! So I stood there watching the guy walking away with my OXYGEN!! :'( :'( I'm not having very good luck with meds....Imitrex doesn't work for me, the insurance won't approve more than 1 pill a day of Verap (love insurance companies!), and NOW THIS!! What next??? V. |

Fax the idiot a copy of your prescription then phone him to make sure its legible and he's reading it. I don't know if you can do this, but I think its worth a shot. I'm sorry you have to go through this - I hope my suggestion works, or by some miracle, the guy realizes he was making a mistake. :-/ Pepp |

Title: Re: Well, I THOUGHT I was getting oxygen on Saturd Post by OneEyeBlind on Sep 29th, 2003, 3:55pm Call Apria and your doctor to make sure they know what YOU EXPECT. Have Apria then contact your doctor directly to correct the misunderstanding. Tell them if you don't get your O2 pronto something BAD might happen ... and they wouldn't want to be responsible now would they ??? Good luck. Fists high and fight for what ya need !!!!! |

This is just SO terrible!.... ...that said, i want to add my recent experience with these ...dumb sumbeeches.... in Montana, I had NO problem getting prescribed, supplied, and *oxified*.... now that i moved to Texas, i've been shunted, punted, and DE-oxified by bureaucracy, nasty nurses, and ignorant medical suppliers... ..so, i'm goin' to welders o2.... scrooem!... i'd rather pay ca$h for what i know works than *DANCE* with a bunch of people who think i'm gonna blow myself up, start a CRANK lab, or worse... ...and i invite allayez to do the same.... but do it with knowledge of the RISKS... and the BENEFITS..... good luck.... Steve(N4H) o yeah: Quote:
DO NOT DRINK LIQUID O2!!! ... but if they DO bring you a Liquid o2 tank.... expect to mortgage yer house to pay for it..... |
