Title: pane Post by rumplestiltskin on Sep 27th, 2003, 6:19am a rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet. Unless they be full of themself...a Clusterhead knows how the alfabet comes unhinged near the time of pain, close to the darkness, in the shadow of the beast. Yer message was crystal clear. To all of us sleepless in pane....Keep seeking the abortive and preventative that works better and better. Wage Peace Den |

Title: Re: If anyone missed my whining..... Post by BarbaraD on Sep 27th, 2003, 8:05am Tara We've all been there so whine away.... and it's not whinning -- it's VENTING.. The no sleep thing is one of the worst things about this.... We need the rest and the damn beast won't let us rest. I've been on a sleep depravation diet all week and this morning I'm down to shadows, so I'm hoping - hoping - hoping...... but afraid to hope too much. Have you done the O2. Sometimes I can catch a catnap sitting up with the O2 on. Not much but it's better than nothing. Hoping you get a break soon..... Hugs your way.... BD |

Title: Re: If anyone missed my whining..... Post by Jimi on Sep 27th, 2003, 9:04am Hi Tara, One thing you might try. My last cycle was that way. I was having one every 1 1/2 hrs, sucked 02, went back to sleep etc, etc. I had some Amerge pills, (another triptan like Imitrex) I took one before bedtime and woke up at 6 this next morning. Granted it was toward the end of my cycle so maybe the beast was gettting weaker and ready to leave, I don't know. Anyway, it would probably be worth a shot at this point. Good luck, Jimi :) |

Title: Re: If anyone missed my whining..... Post by taraann on Sep 27th, 2003, 10:42am Thank you everyone! I got a couple hours of sleep this morning but woke up with a little pressure (fingers crossed it stays just that). I just LOVE everyone here, always jump in to support even if you are in pain yourself, socaring it's wonderful. As for your questions concerning meds, I have a prescription for Atavan that I'm getting filled today (it's for sleep). And my GP won't prescribe me O2 he says I get enough O2 when i breathe regular air, but I have an appt with a HA specialist in January so I'm just playing the waiting game. Thank you again I LUV you all and I hope and pray everyone has a lovely PF day and night! P.S. I actually considered going back and fixing my spelling errors on my origional post, that is how anal I am. |

That is BS Tara! Is it practical to see another GP? Bring him/her O2 info from here and OUCH, and they have to be hard pressed not to prescribe it for you. Be demanding! That is what it took for me to get the ball rolling here. 3 doctors later. ;D |

Title: Re: If anyone missed my whining..... Post by Callico_Kid on Sep 28th, 2003, 1:20am Hi Tara, Missed checking in, so I missed out on your post B4 now. I'm in the same boat with the night time HA's, and have given up on trying to go to bed until I know the last one is gone. I can't handle them when they wake me from sleep. I do much better just staying up, but then, I don't have to keep up with kids in the AM. Print out the O2 info and take it to your Dr. and suggest he get up to speed on proper treatments for your problem or take him to the State Medical Board for malpractice. There is enough literature out there showing the therapeutic value of O2 for CH that it is negligent for him to not prescribe it unless he has a medical reason not to, i.e. you are allergic to O2. You are in our prayers. Jerry |

Title: Re: If anyone missed my whining..... Post by taraann on Sep 28th, 2003, 12:19pm I agree Chris that it is BS....I've tried showning him printouts from here...BillyJ gave me a good link from a website from a hospital about CH meds (it includes O2) so I'm hoping he will take it more seriously. Now it's a matter of getting my car fixed so I can make another appt with him....If its not one obstacle its another. I'm right there with ya Jerry with not wanting to even try to go to sleep during the night alot. But I did actually get some sleep last night (first time in a long time) SO I actually feel somewhat rested today. How are you guys doing? |
