If you guys can believe this, My doctor will not give me a prescripotion for the o2 unless she has some documentation on it. So she has basically left it in my hands to educate her in order for her to prescribe it to me! What i need from you guys is some sites or some good articles where it mentions the normal dosages and that it is very usefull in treating cluster headaches, or even headaches in general!! I also need to know, i remember somebody posting about what mask to ask for , i guess there are two different ones and 1 of the is shit! They also asked me if i want the tanks or some thing that takes the oxygen out of the air. anyrecommendations on that??

Any information and or sites you can direct me to would be greatly appreciated!

And yes you are right my DOctor is a big moron! (i know thats what you were thinkin)

CC, you can also go to the OUCH board and print off the convention report. If she has any reservations regarding the use of O2 in the treatment of cluster headaches I would be more than happy to put her in contact with Dr. Marcelo Bigal of the New England Headache Center and Research Institute as well as a professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine(our keynote speaker at the convention) and have him provide her with all the medical studies that prove the efficacy of oxygen for use with cluster headaches.

Thank you Cat, i printed up all 9 pages of that report, i will let the doctor read through all of that because she is very uneducated when it comes to clusters!

Don't leave her office till she gives you the script, sheesh.
Sit in front of her whilst she reads the WHOLE report!!

There are also great things to print out in the "meds" section on the OUCH site, I have a whole book I like to take to the docs from there.

From the you could search for Kudrow and oxygen , etc

Ok, I searched a little more and found the following references, THOSE you'll have to look up:

1. Fogan L. Treatment of cluster headache. A double-blind comparison of oxygen v air inhalation. Arch Neurol 1985;43:362–3.

2. Kudrow L. Response of cluster headache attacks to oxygen inhalation. Headache 1981;21:1–4.

Give em hell till they five ya the O2, refuse to take no for an answer!

How'd ya do last night BTW? I see you made it. So glad, I was worrying. You need a NON-REBREATHER MASK if they give ya the wrong one I'll be more than happy to send you one if you tell me where to send it.........cut the strap on it when you get it so you don't pass out with the O2 still on.
