Title: Reaching the end...and wondering
Post by ckelly181 on Sep 19th, 2003, 7:04pm
I'm curious about how folks here know that their cycle is ending. Also wondering how many folks stay on some kind of med between episodes?

I think I'm at the end - it's been about 6 weeks. I get the usual shadow and anxious feeling, but have had only had one break through late at night - fell asleep with the 02 mask on (no strap - it fell away and I used up the rest of the tank...)

Seems like, as the weather got colder the last few days, the ha's are going away...
:D

Ahem, Thats a No No with the O2.

I know by the frequency of my attacks. As i am getting less after its peak, i know i am getting near the end!

;D I think the time between HA's gets longer and longer, then just stops.  I then start tapering off my meds, and if the HA's don't come back, I stay off.  The only med I continue to take is Verapamil, but I was taking it for BP anyway.

Yea, I was pretty mad at myself. Next time that happens, I'll turn on the lights and the TV to keep myself awake.

My headaches ussually get more intense and more frequent as the days go on, then they will start getting less frequent and less intense until they are gone for that cycle.

If you can manage to do it while being hit...just set the alarm.  An easier way would be to get an inexpensive kitchen timer and keep it set at 15 mins...then, just push a button.

I usually halve my daily preventative Verapamil when I think I'm out of the woods.  If I can get through a week with half doses, normally, I'm done.

On a side note, I've been away for a while but less than 10 attacks in the past nine months  ;D
