for those of you that did not read my post on ventrilo, I know have a voice chat server running. All you need is a microphone (headsets are best) and the software , to get the software go to www.ventrilo.com and download the client version!! install it!! then you will nedd to connect to my i.p address which is:

65.93.176.140

Hope to see ya all there and put some voices to the names!!!!

Equiptment......shit.....I still need ta install the new cd rom/writer and new mouse cuz mine is paroniod and goes everywhere by where I point it. Just ain't found the time ta rip all that stuff out and redo YET......got a million things ta move and unhook......which I dread the most. So.....that's my story and I'm stickin to it Pam

Hey man, I connected tonight and it said you were there, but you didn't answer. I will catch up on ya sometime later tonight maybe. I am glad we are doing this. Much better than just text chat. and, I love Vent.

I'm not sure I even know exactly what VOICE CHAT is anyhow.........is it sumthin like bein a kelly girl......gawd do they even still have kelly girls.......is that still even a job description ? Pam that's mom was a kelly girl (switch board operator)

Dear CC,

I downloaded Ventrilo and opened it. I don't have a mike, not sure where to plug it in my pc. Don't know if regular headsets, like for a Walkman, will work. Don't know where to plug them in. I have 25 years experience in the computer field and am probably way more familiar with techno-nerd stuff than most of our members.

Went to doc today with bronchitis and shadow CH. Am sick and tired, stressed over many things, busy and basically a procrastinator. I'm also taking a cough syrup which wiped me out.

I do look forward to voice chat with my Cluterbuds and I do appreciate your efforts in setting this up.

I think your best chance at success will entail patience, understanding, letting folks find and use voice chat when they are able and ready. Most of our members are battling terrible pain, using various combos of meds, facing challenges in keeping basic life needs met. For them to go buy equipment, figure out how to use it, download the software and show up for voice chat is definitely not an overnight project.

One step at a time.

ya i hear ya carla, not a problem, and i am in pain myself!!! I was kidding around when i said u guys suck, guess people like jonny didnt see it that way! there was never an intention there of offending anyone!!

jonny thanks for the welcome back message! greatly appreciated. I'm sure that will help others feel welcome here as they read that!

Guys, the ventrilo thing, once you get it configured is way cool. You can talk just like you talk on the phone with as many as 16 people at a time and it is free.

I don't know CC, but he was thinking that some of you guys are so close that you talk all the time and have huge phone bills. This is a cool way to get rid of those bills and coming closer as a group, which I am all for.

It does take a little bit of configuration, but I literally set mine up in 30 seconds or so.....course I also had a mic already installed.

I wish ta goodness I could come and install this on your pcs for you, cuz you will be surprised how much easier it is to talk one on one without that dang phone bill.

Wish you were here too Rev. I'm pretty much afraid to screw around with my puter. Connectors and the like are not my favorite place to fool around. I have very good mikes all over the place from my taping days but this is another animal.

Some day maybe but not high on my list.
