just curious, whats the deal with the shrooms? This is the first i have heard about it. can somebody please give me some insight on this? Are we talking the illegal kind?

fill me in too. Yea CC they're illegal. I guess we're supposed to grow them ourselves. Wish I could just buy em' off some dude in an alley somewhere 8)

i wonder what exactly they would do? every time i have eaten them, all i got were insane sights where lights were streaked and everything had a chaser.... that in its self is exactly what gives me a headache. I guess the actuall Psilocybe would do something... what im not exactly sure but u wont catch me on em with a headache or during a cycle. sounds like even more pain

pontificate...... eh? pretty big word... i had to look that up actually.

Im not sure if that was directed to me or not, but i DO know what they have done for me, however i havent ever eaten them with anything but a clear head.

Neko -

Shrooms are usually used as a preventive, you would not necessarily (more on that below) take them during or at the onset of an attack, as you would abortives. Some have, or have had an attack come on after taking them, and this can be a nasty, painful "trip." But often the attack doesn't last as long as it normally would. Some have gotten nasty attacks right after or within a day or two of using the shrooms, but this often turns out to be the beast's last gasp, as the attacks become shorter, milder and farther apart.

Also, you generally don't need to get very high on the 'shrooms. A quarter to half as much as you would take for fun is usually enough.

AND - there are hints that shrooms, in very low doses, may be useful as an abortive. It's called the SPUT method, and the ClusterBusters are looking into this, but it's too early to say how effective this might be.

SPUT stands for "Small Piece Under Tongue," and that's how it's done. At the first sign of an attacik, place a small piece of 'shroom under your tongue, and suck on it like crazy. Some initial reports seem to indicate this will abort the attack in 5-15 minutes.

And the really exciting part of this is that it MIGHT be possible, by aborting several attacks with the SPUT, to build up a preventive effect as well. Now this small piece, I'd have to guess about a tenth of a gram, has only the slightest psychoactive effective, so you don't (we hope) have to trip your way through an attack.

Please understand this is very preliminary. We don't know how well this works or for how many people it would work. And there is a drawback: Shrooms taste really nasty, like a cross between dirt and sewage. But it's nothing compared to a red-hot, rotating railroad spike in the eye.

One thing you need to realize about shroom therapy is that you are NOT taking the amount of a recreational dose.

The research that is going on by clusterbusters is to determine the effectiveness of the psilocin on CH. There is a strong potential for this research to go full out with a research institute, and part of getting that started, as well as all other research, will be the data from the quality of life survey.

Cocaine yielded Lidocaine, LSD yielded Sansert, this is not some quackery that has been dreamed up by those wishing to trip. The information available to date indicates very good chances for this to work as an excellent preventative, and possibly as an abortive.

While people may not wish to endeavour into illegal means for treatment at this stage, please understand that this is legit research going on and will hopefully result in legal medication being derived from it.

Those who are willing to try it will add a great deal to the information being collected now.

This is not for everyone, and clusterbusters.com gives you a full run down on who should or should not consider this treatment.

Understand that there has been ongoing "informal" research for some time now (so I have heard). Do your research and decide for yourself. If you decide to try this treatment PLEASE keep us posted as to your results. Also, try to follow the guidelines layed out by the clusterbusters so we can compile the results into the existing data.

Although we are still in the early stages of getting this seriously looked at (research dollars), the results have been nothing short of amazing.

I for one am one medication free dude and no longer fear my next cycle. A wonderfull thing to have control of the beast for once, rather than the beast controlling me.

Tommy- I cant exactly recall how long my next cycle was, and if i had to guess maybe 3 months? But for me that dosent mean much, my CH bouts last for a month or so then quit for four then come back for four and quit for one. I wouldent be a great example.

However, streaking lights and chasers are what give me crazy ass headaches, this i know for a fact. SPUT, though i have never done when i have eaten them we have always soaked 1 diced up gram or 1 and 1/2 gram in two tea spoons of water. Our plan was not to get rid of a headache.... :-X

I would be crazy if i EVER ate mushrooms during a CH, just because of the streakers and chasers, lights are amped 200% its amazing with a clear head and while your out of your cycle. The actuall Psilocybe will also cause about an hour to an hour and a half of the up and down feeling of being on the ocean all day also knowen as nausea. i have seen bad trips (not very common with SPUT) customers at my work that have had their tounge start vibrating and eyes roll back in their head (not like an O.D) able to speak clear but with "real tight head and neck" I assume that means a headache.

THE BEST ADVICE I CAN EVER GIVE IS, DOOOO NOT DO THIS ALONE, EVEN SPUT. BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW THE LEVEL OF YOUR MUSHROOM, AND EVERY, TRIP, IS DIFFRENT!
