Title: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by JadensMom062003 on Sep 17th, 2003, 4:10pm ::) HI Everyone, I just got back from the Neurologist and they think that what I am having is Cluster Headahces. They gave me some medication (Neurotonin) I may have spelt that wrong to help with it. These have been going on for close to a year now. I was misinformed at the OB/Gyn when I was pregnant with my son, they told me that it was pregnancy related and that It would go away after I gave Birth (BOY where they wrong) Well Just saying Hello to you all and I hope that oyu all have a great night! Title: Re: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by TxBasslady on Sep 17th, 2003, 4:36pm :) Hi Stephanie, Welcome to the board. There is a wealth of information here and a good place to start is with the cluster quiz. All of the links located to your left are great, and they have helped me so much. All you could ever hope to learn about CH is there at your fingertips. There is alot of info on medications and what seems to work for alot of folks. There are also great suggestions and ideas that should help. Congrats on the birth of your baby boy !!!!! Hope you find what you need here. Jean 8) |

Title: Re: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by Charlie on Sep 17th, 2003, 4:39pm Welcome aboard and I hope you stick around and do lots of reading. There are many good ideas here and ways to help deal with this horror. Here are two links: One for a technique I found effective and a second link to a description of this disease which does a wonderful job explaining to employers and others that this has nothing to with what is thought of as a “headache.” http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/ http://www.ouch-uk.org/ch/note_colleagues.cfm Good luck and let us know how you're doing. Title: Re: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by Prense on Sep 17th, 2003, 5:58pm Welcome! Feel free to discribe how your HAs effect you. By all means, take the cluster quiz on the left, and if you still feel that what you have is CH (docs can be wrong), I would try to get some sort of abortive (trex, O2) for when you get hit. ;D Best wishes! Title: Re: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by Miss_Deleny on Sep 17th, 2003, 8:54pm Welcome to Clusterville! Seems everyone before me has already mentioned about the buttons on the left and how much reading there is to do .. so I won't mention all the great info there. Cootie will be around after a while to hand you your assignments and Jonny ... well, he has kinda lost it .. he actually thinks that he is the King here .. see what CH can do to you if you arent careful? ~April~ |

Title: Re: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by BarbaraD on Sep 18th, 2003, 5:25am Welcome to Clusterville, Take the quiz, read the info. If what you do have is CH - we're all sorry, but you've found the right place to be. There are about 1000 supporters here to help you through it. We all have them and we KNOW what you're going through. One thing you'll find is that NOTHING works on everyone. There is NO "set" policy to deal with CH. Everyone of us reacts differently. Time and trial is the only way you'll find what works for you. REad about the meds that work for "most" and when you go to your neuro go ARMED with a fact sheet. We don't take the docs word for much of anything. We educate the doc - most of them don't know much about CH - we do the research and educate them. Hope you find out it's a hormonal thing, but if it is CH, pull up a chair - you're home here. Welcome. Hugs BD |

Title: Re: New Sufferrer (First time Here) Post by ClusterChuck on Sep 18th, 2003, 8:45am Welcome aboard Stephanie! Congratulations on your latest family addition! You are obviously a Mom and a female! Great news for you! Females don't get CH!!! (WRONG!!) Make sure you talk to your doctor about using oxygen as an abortive. Works for most, at killing the pain within 10 to 15 minutes. Click on the oxygen info button on the left. Print it out and take it with you to your doctor. Tara, love, you were not offered this because you are SPECIAL!!! on 09/18/03 at 07:45:16, taraann wrote:
