Hang with me on this one kids, this is going to be a very political year. Some candidate, somewhere will be able to cash in on us and make themselves look good. We are already banded together through this website, let’s use this gift to change things.

I promised this family that, during my 22 months pain free, I would try to make a difference. I made that pledge in the honor of DJ, I will not give up. How the fuck do you make a difference???? If we knew how, we would have already done it! Personally, I have been inspired by the ClusterHeads and Supporters who have laid the foundation that we stand on right now, those who just wanted to let the world (and each other) know that we exist.

As ClusterHeads we have a very specific type of pain. If any one of us, was not, at the very least, semi kinda sorta pre-diagnosed as a ClusterHead on our very first Doctor visit, then there is a breakdown in the system. uh…duh. We must get the word out about ClusterHeadaches any way we can. If it turns out that ClusterHeadaches are caused by an Alien Seed, that was planted generations ago, and all of us are related…..uh…so be it.

Since it is stupid for me to propose a plan of action and then just wait around for someone else to act on it, I tend to just do things. So I am starting a:

“Grass Roots E-Mail Campaign for ClusterHead Recognition”

Every week we will have a different e-mail target. For one week all the ClusterHeads and Supporters around the world will let this target know that WE EXIST, through a barrage of e-mails (If the chosen target offends an individual ClusterHead or Supporter, they just don’t have to participate that week. There is no need to derail that week’s target because of personal prejudice. Remember, to us they are only fish in a bucket!!).

I will post (or anyone who wants to) a skeleton form letter each week, addressed to that week’s target. You can just delete all my crap, and write your own, but some of us are pressed for time, so this just makes it easier to have your voice heard. It will all add up, and eventually it will make a difference. We will hit a nerve somewhere.

THIS WEEK’S TARGET: MONTEL WILLIAMS

Montel was in last night. I chose a wine for him and his two guests, I brought it to the table fully covered with a napkin and made him taste it and guess what wine it was, without seeing the label or cork. Fuckeneh! He hit it right on the nose, first guess, Cloudy Bay, Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. He’s getting good. Montel is the most gracious and generous celebrity that I have ever met (and I’ve met them all), he respects the working stiff. This would be a good time to reach out to him. The last time he was in I gave him my hand-out on ClusterHeadaches and some of us e-mailed him, so this will not be new to him. Let’s let him know that WE EXIST!! Give him a piece of your story, like: insurance, doctors, work, family, emotional, desperate and all the other pieces we know all too well. Just a couple of paragraphs, the next day send him another piece.

And when you are done emailing Montel, or before you email Montel, make sure you have put your name down to participate in the quality of life survey.

With the survey data we can make that much more of a difference with these names.

I wholeheartedly agree. I’m sorry that I missed that post, please give us the info again. Our survey data is the greatest resource that we have. This is a great bargaining chip. We have something that no one else has........ClusterHeads.

Did it. OMG ........ what a friggin great idea. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. I could do this for years (which it might take) ........ but hey ........ it is a great idea that if we stick with may bring some type of difference !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How cool is this? You all make me proud to be a ClusterHead. Bob G. sent me a copy of his letter to Montel, it’s excellent, and I’m sure Bob G. meant for it to be shared, so here it is. I see nothing wrong with using this letter and your own address, however a little tweak here and there will make it like your own.

Dear Mr. Williams,
I am a sufferer of Cluster headaches. Also known as suicide headaches. There are thousands of us around the world suffering every day and night but cluster headaches are little known and/or researched.

I have never seen or heard of a television program featuring people suffering “the most painful disease known to man”. Because of the high caliber of your show I would like to suggest that you and your people please look into possibly giving thought to having this as a subject of one of your shows.

There is an Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches (O.U.C.H.) in the United States, United Kingdom and Italy. The web site for the O.U.C.H.-US is http://www.clusterheadaches.org/. O.U.C.H-US is a young organization but already has over 1000 members.

Also on the internet is http://www.clusterheadaches.com. This is a message board for with over 4000 cluster headaches sufferers signed on.

I’m so, so, so, so, so, sorry, I’m sure that you never thought your life would turn out like this….. A 3 Liter glass jug of Rose? Gimmie a break Sister! You tell that hubby of yours, to buy you a 5 Liter Box Wine, I like everything in the “Peter Vella” line. The polyethylene/polypropylene/Mylar bladders, inside these box wines, collapse as the wine leaves, reducing oxygen exposure, keeping it fresh longer…. Now that I think about it, that might not matter to y’all.

What does a Texas tornado and a Tennessee divorce have in common? ….. Someone’s gonna lose a trailer.

I cannot believe that 156 of us have read this and only 9 replys. How much trouble can it be to drop Montel a line or two? He seems to be a very compassionate person and what a great avenue to get out plight out into the face of the rest of the world.

Shame on anyone who doesn't bother to follow the lead here.....no more complaining that no one cares. Most people have never heard of cluster headaches.....so how can they possibly care. I worked with several people who saw a small snippit about clusters on 60 minutes or some other show several years ago. Everyone who saw that show could much more relate to what I live with daily. They were absolutely dumbfounded that anyone could possibly survive with such pain on a daily basis. So here is another chance to get this out before the public, the doctors, the insurance companies, etc. Won't take but a second.

I'm going to do my letter to Montel now.

I'm sure Montel is a fine, straight up guy.
I want our story told, but not there.

He's too closely associated with 'circus' TV.

It'll do more harm than good to be displayed there.

I suffer from "CLUSTERHEADACHES" and wish there could be more or at least some research on it so that my other fellow suffers and I could go pain free!
If you have ever had anything close to being as painful as these are, You would understand why it is also known as the suicide pain as it is known for being high up on the scale for the most cause of suicide due to pain and no cure and very few methods of relief for only some people.
Although I am canadian, I still suffer from this monster of a pain.
We to do not have much research on it but am going to try (like my American friends) and voice my concern, so that our generations to follow will have some help in not only a cure but getting diagnosed at an earlier age (i suffered for 10 years before I finally found out what was wrong and was not insane or have a tumor)

PLEASE HELP US OUT!
