Title: When headaches KILL
Post by SommelierCH on Sep 10th, 2003, 7:24pm
I am sharing this post from our High School Alumni web site about a classmate. I think it shows the newbies why they need to get expert medical diagnosis, and yes, go through the MRI. I self diagnosed myself in 1986, reading this post scared the $hit out of me.

The Internet is an amazing tool when it comes to sending information to a large group of people. However, it's my unfortunate task at this time to tell you all that this morning, my brother Mark McMilian, died in his sleep. He'd been having bad headaches; they suspect an aneurism or pulmonary embollism. We're all in deep shock and can't imagine life without him. If you have special memories to share with my family about Mark, please send them to me and I'll include them in the service. My family deeply appreciates your thoughts and prayers.

Peace to you, Mark McMilian,

David J.

Very good point David,
It is not good to ignore symptoms, proper diagnosis is really a matter of life and death. I remember my first CAT scan and I would have been grateful if it would have been a brain tumor. I had been in such bad pain for so long and no one knew why anything would have been better than not knowing nothing. Now I know.

Thanks for sharing that with us David,
See ya,
Mark

Thanks for the post.  I lost a good friend to an aneurism two years ago.  Having the proper diagnosis is vital.

My mother had one rupture - most don't survive to the hospital.  She's had several more clipped.  The whole tumor thing is horrible, my cousin had a pituitary tumor which went up to her optic nerve and they had to take out the whole pituitary.  She was getting headaches and waking up screaming.  Unfortunately she will never be well again.  Tumors are no joke.

Hence, newbies, why we always say get the MRI, CAT scan, and any other tests to make sure nothing else is causing these headaches!

Good bump, Billy.

My Grandmother had a headache when she was in her 30s she laid down and never got up again.

Buddy and I had some  friends named Wayne and Rita. Wayne suffered from headaches.  He was told just bad Migrains. Nothing he took stopped his pain. Thinking back I wonder how the man got up and went to work everyday. His biggest mistake was he stopped going to the doctor when they told him he had Migrains. He just went to a reg doctor, wouldn't go to a nero. He was popping any kind of pain med he could. I got a call about a year after he was dianosed with Migrains from his wife Rita. Wayne had been taken to the hospital the night before, they had drilled a hole in his head to relieve pressure. He was dieing. Buddy and I hauled ass to the hospital. He died before we could get there.  Wayne died of brain cancer.

Headaches of any kind is serious shit! My family take the word headace as such serious.
If they don't offer to do test on you ask them too!

I will give you another bit of advice . Don't tell them what you think you have, let them do their jobs you just tell them the systoms. After the test and they tell you what they think if you disagree, then tell them what you think.

Headaches can be deadly!!!
