Title: Ritalin and Provigil Post by KipBurbank on Sep 10th, 2003, 11:18am These two drugs are stimulants and supposed to work to help SSRI's be more effective. Has anyone had sucess. Do your Doctors support or endorse the use of these drugs to accelerate SSRI and the prevention of CH's. Need to know, thanks Kip |

Title: Re: Ritalin and Provigil Post by eyes_afire on Sep 10th, 2003, 5:48pm I've taken Ritalin by itself and in combination with SSRIs. I don't think Ritalin had any effect on my CH. Well... maybe it helped the shadows a little... I'm not sure. I plan to never touch Paxil ever again. Most docs may frown on the idea since Ritalin is a schedule II controlled substance. Provigil is relatively new. I'm curious about it as well. --- Steve |

Title: Re: Ritalin and Provigil Post by cootie on Sep 10th, 2003, 10:14pm There was a talk show on a long time ago that discussed useing ritallin type meds for women with cramps, bloating and all associated disconforts....and the doc said the med illiminated most of the syptoms incudeing the hormone ha's that went with it all.....they thought it to be a good idea to prescribe only about 5 to 7 pills a month. But since it is a schedule II controlled substance most doc's will NOT prescribe it for that. I only got ha's when it wore off.......and it wore off fast on me even tho it was sustain'd release. It did slow me down to where I could concentrate but it wore off too fast to keep up with how my motabilism can change at the drop of a dime. Pam that will never go near Paxil agin either no way no how |
