I'm using Imitrex (injection) nearly everyday and I have to support totally the cost myself.
Here in Europe the price is about 60 US$ fo a pack of two units.

I'm going to the states in september and I'm wondering if I could buy the product there at a more reasonable price.

If the answer is yes do I need a doctor to have a prescription ? any doctor ?

Thanks to all of you. I started crisis only 7 weeks ago and your presence is probably as important as Imitrex !

Yes you need a drs perscription to get imitirix filled in the US. Not sure on the price of imitrix other than it is over $100 for a script.

The cheapest I know of in the US is about $125 at Walmart. It can be found for less though at some of the Canadian online pharmacies.

$137.50 for 2 needles here in Indiana / Kentucky :'( :'(
(Of course with a prescription) and $400 per shot at the ER :o :o :'( :'(

$357.00 for 5 vials (that's 15 shots for me) at Walgreens, here in Texas. That comes out to around $24 dollars a shot.

I'm going to Mexico in October, hopefully it will be cheaper down there, and I can stock up.

You poor buggers! I had no idea, I knew it was expensive but GOOD GOD! How do you cope if your insurance won't pay?

I now realise how lucky I am when a prescriotion here is £6.50 . I will not complain about the NHS again.

Before they all start rushing over here, tearing up their copies of the Declaration of Independence, do remind them it's only that cheap to make up for taking a week to see the GP and a year to see a neurologist (both of who will tell you to go see the dentist for toothache). ;)

Prostitution continues to be a big problem in the US. I think most are people who sell sex in order to pay for Imitrex. ;D

Roxy .. You only have to take 2 mg doses ? ???
Just wonderin' cause I require at least 5 mg or it just takes too long for relief.

Hey Unsolved, yeah, I only use 2mg per shot. I never use the shot unless I'm at an 8 or better, and only a very few times have I needed another shot. It usually takes only 5-8 minutes to work with the small dose.

I have some good friends working on me to take the shots earlier, and when I do use the trex sooner, it doesn't take as long to knock it out. I'm learning.....slowly but surely....LOL

$22 a pill w/o insurance. Luckily, I have good insurance.

That's the price at Walgreens in Wisconsin.
