Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by Gofishgriff on Aug 20th, 2003, 12:22pm Hey B dog, A little hair of the dog sounds in order to get you right. ;) My last hangover was more than 7 years ago. Lasted about 3 days. God I don't miss them! Not enough time to give the whole story because I need to be productive today to help get this economy back on track. ;D Andy |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by jminmilwaukee on Aug 20th, 2003, 12:34pm Could be worse. I had a fellow employee stager over to my cube about two weeks ago, at 9:00 in the morning, still drunk from the night before. She reeked of booze, slurred her words and had bright red eyes! Best cure I have found was stated above.......don't get them. I do not miss them and feel great. Save the boozin for vacation when I can afford to remain buzzed (bloody mary) or sleep it off. Good luck! |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by cootie on Aug 20th, 2003, 1:29pm I used ta get the worse hangovers and would be totally wipe'd out for days.....always wonder'd if that's how a person felt that was dieing ! I don't get em like I used to fer some reason this past summer but then I have been goin ta bed before sunrise these days also. Have had several drunk drug fests nites out 'years ago' and jus got home and had curtains pulled and house dark and been up all nite and...... 'the parents show up' to visit and catch up on what's goin on......oh my !!! Try ta fake bein a normal social-itte with that goin on. Also went out one nite b-4 my lill vacation with my mom 4 years back with freinds....drank about 10 shots of vodka and got violently ill....had alchohol poisoning I suspect (I'll leave out the details why I know I had it)......I was deathly ill all nite and actually didn't feel well for about 2 months. But....I had to take an 8 hour bus ride next morning ta Windsor gamblin with my mom. I was still violently dry heavein just b-4 I left ta meet her.........she'd of been devastated if I'd of not went. Gawd was I sick and my throat swelled shut from the dry heaves and extremly dehydrated. Shoulda been in the hospital actually. I couldn't eat or swollow and felt weak and burnt out almost feverish and shakey. Needless ta say I won the progressive jackpot soon after we got there of $ 18,000.00 ! I still felt lousey but I was a happy weak peek-eede sick person. Pam that has jus bored the pa-gee-bee's outa everyone :P |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by stevegeebe on Aug 20th, 2003, 6:38pm Don't get them often. Last one that sticks in my mind was many years ago during one of those all night poker games. Lasted long enough to begin having Bloody Mary"s delivered (from the bar across the street) the next morning. That one hurt. I think I broke even. Steve G |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by Ueli on Aug 20th, 2003, 7:28pm A good remedy for hangover is Aspirin, but you must take it exactly as it says on the label: Take one or two - and keep away from children :D :D :D :D :D An Aspirin taken before dropping to bed is even more helpful: the head is much more clear in the morning. Ueli |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by Charlie on Aug 20th, 2003, 8:29pm Thanks Ueli. Like that one.... :D Actually you're right. That's what I and my drinking buddy used to do.....way back in the 1970s....Aspirins BEFORE bed. I never heard anyone else say this. Saved this post for you Ueli. Number 3,000 :o Charlie |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by jimbo on Aug 20th, 2003, 10:12pm Do like me, avoid hangovers-stay drunk! No seriously though, I must have a high tolerance for alcohol because I rarely get hangovers. Believe me, I can drink alot and never get a hangover. Sometimes I wake up and don't feel so good, but that only lasts about a half hour. I mostly stick to MHL now but it used to be a quart of 7-crown every night.(Yes, I said quart). I would like to tell a good hangover story but I have never had any type of hangover to speak of. My wife used to always ask "How can you drink that much and not get a hangover?" My reply: In the words of Bill L "I'm a professional" Seeya, caseofbeerjimbo P.S. If your not feeling so well in the morning, drink GATORADE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by Brian_Y on Aug 21st, 2003, 7:26am I lived. Sort of. Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son!! Who said that for the trivia prize of the day? |

Title: Re: Hangover Stories Post by jminmilwaukee on Aug 21st, 2003, 7:47am The asperin thing does help but if you drink often can turn your liver into swiss cheese. Another MAJOR help is to make a concious decision before "passing out" to drink seven tall glasses of water. It sounds like a lot and is. You will feel extreemly bloated. The very nature of a hangover has to do with being dehydrated and the loss of vitamin b. Take the b vita with the water before bed and you will feel 10 times better then you would have in the morning. For some reason a greasy meal before crashing helps also. Helps soak up the bile I guesss. I used to be a pro at treating hangovers. Now I just avoid them in the first place. Cheers! |
