Title: PF WEEKS!!!!!! Post by svelletta on Aug 20th, 2003, 8:36am Came to this board when my husband (has CH for about 4 years) were at the the lowest point, daily, nightly, continous attacks. Could not stop them. You all know what I am talking about. He went into the hospital the end of June for DHE treatments and with the exception of a 5 minute epidsode ( at which time i slapped the 02 on high flow on him and it subsided within minutes) he has been TOTALLY pain free. The first time in years. He is on preventative meds, Depakote & Lithium, and Melatonin at night. The neuro says the long term goal is to be med free within six months or so. I know all things don't work for all people, but if anyone can be helped by this treatment, it is worth passing along. I see so many of the meds on this site that he has also tried and this treatment is the only thing that has ever given him totally PF days and nights. My heart is with those of you who continue to suffer. I just thought MAYBE there is someone out there who was not aware of the Dihydroergotamine I.V. treatments that could also be helped. The fear is always there that the beast will return, but for now I thank God everyday for his PF days and nights. |

Title: Re: PF WEEKS!!!!!! Post by svelletta on Aug 20th, 2003, 8:50am Thanks, I should also mention that during this time he quit smoking. Don't know how much of an influence this may or may not have had, but will not question it. |
