just two months away...Oct. 11th in Englewood. If there are a couple of people from the same state other than Fla, maybe they could organize for their state as well while here together.

I think I flew 15,000 miles in just over two years meeting clusterheads.

The main purpose for this gathering is the formation of a chapter, but we will have time for fun things to do too. We are right on the ocean (cookout on the beach)......boating excursions (2-1/2 hour lunch cruise around the outer islands)(sunset cruise), sight seeing Boca Grande Island, Sanabel Island, Old quaint Naples, Venice tourist attractions and much more. These include all levels of dining on the water & quaint old Florida atmosphere

Below is my post of about a month ago explaining lodging accomodations:

OK.....it's Oct 11th for sure.

I just talked with Englewood Beach & Yacht Club (EBYC) and find that, being time-share condos whose owners either use them themselves or rent them out to people like us, the owners have not yet notified EBYC about using or renting..........so my friend and ex-co-worker is going to start making phone calls today to the owners.

I've also checked with another place on the beach, which I would highly recommend, called Castaways and they do have several 2 br, 2ba units available on the beach. They have a 3 night minimum at $97.00 per night or $674 for the week. This place is nicely furnished and has outdoor grills, a pool with self-bar and very tropical atmosphere. It is right next to the Englewood beach on the Gulf. Also within walking distance to a couple of very good restaurants, great seafood & steaks, and the Tiki Bar with its' Island Music (and food).

If I don't hear from EBYC within the next two days, I think we sould book with Castaways. They require a $200.00 deposit to hold the unit and have a 45 day cancellation period.

There's also the Veranda Inn with the usual double occupancy for $62.00 per night, a 2 br.efficiency of sorts. king and double, with a refrig and micro for $77.00, and a 2 br apt with king, twins and sleeper sofa for $110.00.

Forget Days Inn....wouldn't recommend this one.

The sooner we book, the better the chance for a unit closer to the beach.

When we've had conventions all over the four corners of the country, I am hoping to offer Sarasota as we start rotating again. There is really a lot to do here.

Elaine......our little get together in October is in Englewood where we had it before.

I mentioned Sarasota for a convention because it is close by here so I am familiar with it, and it's a larger city with more lodging accomodations for a larger crowd. It's a beautiful city with a lot more to offer.

Donna if everything goes right Buddy, Deveny and the baby will be coming with me. Heather my other daughter said she would Dog and cat sit for us. We will be driving down on Fridyay Night and coming back Sunday afternoon. I can't wait :-)!!!

Hey smfaison.. I just moved from VA to the Pensacola, FL area. Tallahassee is I think around 3 hrs from Pensacola..maybe a chapter could be formed that would be the FL Panhandle Chapter. Is this a possibility? Or can there only be one official chapter in a state? I really don't know what is involved in forming these chapters, running them, etc..but I'd be willing to work on it with someone if it's a possibility.

I belonged to a large group in Cleveland - a huge not for profit organization who is also International- and we had many chapters just within that city.

The org was broken down into Northeast, Southeast, South Central, Midwest, Northwest and Southwest Regions. There were District Managers covering several chapters and than Regional Managers covering each region.

I do believe this applies to all chartered orgs, but if I'm wrong, please correct me.

We were planning on visiting friends down there anyways just extended the trip a little.
Need name of places to stay. Is the yacht club still available at the same prices? Please lets us know so we can make reservations before I drive Bill crazy.

Nice pic of the Fla sunset, Andy........can you post the whole big picture?

Friday afternoon and evening, we'll all be getting together at EBYC for an evening of reacquainting, and meeting new people. The pool is inviting as is the private section of the beach.

I'm getting ready (mentally) for the big cook out Saturday eve. out back on the patio of EBYC, near the boat docks. We'll vote on the chef....hee he.

Earlier in the day we will have a business meeting to get the Fla. Chapter off the ground, etc. That's what I'm really excited about..........that and getting some ch'ers together again. And while the meeting is going on, I'll bet I know a few people who will wander off for a game of golf! Need I say who?

In the evening, we'll (those who want to) wonder over to the Tiki Bar for some island music and sea type snacks. Best steamers in the world!

Sunday and Monday, those who stay on will play it by ear......there's a lot to see and do.

I just talked to Nancy C and we'll be coming too. Deb - Bill???? When are ya'll getting there? I think we're goin to get htere on the 9th and stay till the 11th.. I'm making plane reservations -- gotta get hubby Bill a place to stay while I'm gone and a few little details to work out, but I need a break and FL seems like a good place. The Tiki Bar is what did it for me.... Wonder if my pelican is still there?????? And Donna --- where the hell is the PINK thingy??? Get it OUT and ready. Bill and I want to go on butt patrol on the beach...

The only problem with EBYC is that their weeks go from Sat. to Sat. I was lucky to get a 2 br from Friday with check in time of 2 pm for as many days as I want. There's room for you and Nancy, Barb.

Is it possible to change your dates?

Donna, got a message sent out to Deb and Bill to see if Barb and I can stay with them till the 10th if we fly in on the 9th..we gotta fly in on the 9th to harrass Bill L. and Deb LOL...but know their one bedroom is not gonna be big enough for all four of us..so we will transfer over to the hospitality suite on the 10th..also, Barb and I are gonna stay till monday or tuesday..will know more this week when i talk to my supervisor at work...will talk this week...I cant wait to see all of you guys and gals...and so glad my roomie, Barb is gonna make it after all..it will be like old home week now..think we all need a vacation and while we are enjoying ourselves we can get alot accomplished too..smiles,nancyc

JUst talked to DEB and her and Bill L are gonna stay longer...guess Bill L. figured he had to stay longer now that Barb D is showing up...he could manhandle me in three days but with the two of us together, well, that may take longer LOL....i just cant wait to see you all..i am so excited, I could bust......think i can get thru this month now I have this to look forward to...smiles, nancyc
