Title: Re: What's your passion...? Post by Woobie on Aug 6th, 2003, 11:02pm This is a very ironic question.. because lately, I've come to figure out that I HAVE no passion. I go to work - I come home, am on the computer for maybe an hour.. sleep, I go back to work. I have no time for anything else but keeping this family semi-happy. And I've noticed in the past few weeks, that I need something of my own. It seems everyone has something of their own.. i do not drink, I dont do any drugs, I dont go out and party, I dont gamble (being a dealer at a casino - takes all the fun out of gambling)... I dont do ANYTHING... it's frikkin amazing to me to actually realize that I dont have a life. amazing, and depressing. I dont know what I like.. I dont have time to like anything anyway. I am not crafty. Dont have time to read... Maybe this thread will help me with my problem.. reading what others do to entertain themselves.. maybe I'll get some ideas. ps - for those who care -=- i have not left.. just still trying to catch up (got wayyyyyyyyyy behind when i moved, and then was out of internet because of a storm, and working a different schedule now.) Cannot seem to catch up, but lurk every day to do what I can. All the pics of the convention made me sad... i wanted to go so bad. You all look like you had a good time... Dont post much, cuz lately, I haven't had anything to say .... good or bad, that's where I am. tina - who needs a life... :-* |

Title: Re: What's your passion...? Post by Carl_D on Aug 7th, 2003, 8:32am My greatest passion since I was an infant is MUSIC!!!!! They say when I was a babe, if they turned off the radio, I would wake up crying; so they left it on all night and during naps. Now, I am an accomplished musician of 23 years. I listen to everything under the sun, but prefer to play heavy music. Ask Jonny, he has heard me on the git-fiddle over the phone. I also have some of my songs I wrote and recorded by myself on a 4-track recorder..check 'em out at... Mp3.com/former I eat, sleep, breathe, drink, sweay and bleed music. An old banhdmate from years ago and I have formed a new band called "Act of God." I came up with the name, because it took an act of god for this to come together. Mike runs both a computer business and recording studio out of his home. He is our rythm guitarist. "Dr. Jim Christ...a.k.a. Mike Rogers, is our computer tech and bass player. Right now we are suffering from what I call the "Spinal Tap" syndrome, and can't keep a good drummer. Our last one had to quit as both of his parents are in ill health at this time, and he needs to be with his family, so I am doing the drum tracks on our recordings. We should have the "ActofGodband.com" site up and running soon with new pics and mp3's for streaming or download. I take pride in being the lead singer/lead guitarist and primary lyricist. My other passion that ties in is writing. Been writing poems and songs since I could hold a pencil. I take out all of my frustrations and pain in music and writing. I wrote a few short stories, and as some of you know, am working hard on becoming a full-fledged author, with my first book being a fictional account of a young man named James Wyatt Evans who, at age 26, begins having cluster headaches. I am drawing from some personal experience and hoping to capture the harsh reality of CH and its effects on a sufferer and those around him. My goal is to both educate and entertain people at the same time, and possibly get a good publishing deal. I am anxious to finish this book for many many reasons. One reason is, I have suffered many set-backs on this project to the point of being both sorrowful and pissed...this baby is long overdue!!! Another reason is, I am anxious to start my next book. I already have plans for my next 3 books. I know, I am long winded...hehehe. "The Vigilante Code" is about a man who goes away to college to become a school-teacher. He returns to his hometown only to find that it is filled with gang violence. When a tragedy hits too close to home, Gary Walthers and four friends make a pact to take thier town back from the thugs and pushers. What Gary doesn't expect is to fall in ,love with a young prostitute he will either save, or be brought closer to death by her. "Dead Mans Cove" takes place in Butlers Cove, MO. After ripping off a cocaine dealer, the bloodthirsty hustler gets his revenge by ordering a hit on the house. What the four assassins don't know is they have thier work cut out for them. The night of the hit, the couple are having a party, and everyone in the house is slaughtered; but one man survives. As he slowly begins to recover, he is continually haunted by those who died that night, and they want revenge - through him. They will get it, or he will go insane in the process. "Maximillian Wood" is a story of a young boy who nearly drowns, and suffers mild brain damage as a result of lack of oxygen to the brain. The near death experience also leaves him with a special gift: the ability to heal others. Some call the boy a gift from God, but once the government learns of the 'miracle boy' they set out to capture the boy for scientific study. Okies...that is my passions. All of you know how frustrating and angry CH can make a person. Instead of taking that agression out on others, I take it out in my art. I consider myself very fortunate to have the creative outlets I do. And yes, I am a bit twisted. I can't help it. Blame it on the fact I was at 14 a 4th level dungeon master of D&D who loved planning adventures. If you were to partake in one of our good ole 4 day summer D&D binges, you knew better than to fall asleep, as you would die and everybody else would divvy up yer stuff. We were ruthless. Enough of my incessant ramblings. You can wake up now and go back to sleep. Pf days & nights to all, C. Franklin Daniels |

When my sister was expecting her first baby we were talking about names. There are lots of Jacks in my family....Daddy was Jack, nephew is Jackson and me Jackie. We thought she should either name the baby Jack or Jackie. She said NO.....you see her last name is HOFF..... ;D And that's the truth. ;D I was introduced to a new shooter at the gun club. His name was Richard Holder. He shook hands with me and said...."You might as well call me Jock Strap....everybody else does"..... ;D And that's the truth too. ;D Jacks 8) |

Title: Re: What's your passion...? Post by Jackie on Aug 10th, 2003, 7:44am OK, Elaine....here ya go :P Golf - I've played that silly game all my life..not much these days though..to busy with other passions :) Snowmobiles - raced them when I was younger but decided to quit that...had kids to raise and decided it would be easier without a broken neck ;D Actually the winters got so mild there wasn't enough snow. Drag Racing - my brother & I ran a super comp car on the NHRA circuit for several years. What a rush!! We traveled all over the country. John Force IS really crazy but I loved him... ;D I restored a 71 Vet roadster during that time too...whew, that was work! Bass Fishing - Blake taught me the skill and we fished lots of tournaments together. Fishing is not a relaxing sport...tournaments are 8 hours of fast and furious action but fun too. Bird Hunting - the best part of that is watching the dogs work. Interior decorating and design - we completely remodeled this house last winter...for the 4th time. I do it for friends and family too. Skeet Shooting - I love the game. Turning a target into smoke is instant gratification..especially when you run a straight... ;D Tournaments/competition is great...you travel all over the country and get to meet wonderful interesting people. Women get no special consideration either...it's heads up with the men.. :) I love my family and friends and would do almost anything for them......as long as they behave... ;D That's about it....... ::) (for the most part) Come on, gang.....list some more of your passions. I enjoy reading what "turns ya on". Jacks 8) |

Title: Re: What's your passion...? Post by Elaine on Aug 10th, 2003, 11:37am OK Roxey and Jackie, ya'll go play golf I will be the caddy ;-)! I love to fish, but I like to sit on the bank and fish. I usually wind up with catfish!I throw them back in LOL! So ya'll go get the fish and I will cook them. I don't like guns but I can shoot, was taught by a policeman years ago, but I can't kill anything, but I do love to eat quail. You two bring the game home and I will cook and eat it! Jackie now I use to love riding a mini bike when I was growing up, I had three brothers had to keep up with them. I use to like to ride mortor cycles but I can't hold them up any more. They are two heavey. I do love to ride mopads when I got to FL! Stop laughing you two! My real passion is wood work. I love to make things. My favoret place to shop is home depot ! If I ever get another table saw I will live in the shed ;-)! Now I want a table saw, Buddy is going to make me stay off the computer if I keep this up! |

We had a beagle who could give you chills when she picked up the scent.....what baying! I loved it. Love Beagles. We did a lot of fishing.......small time stuff...crappies, sunfish, pearch, bass....I did all of the rowing while he trolled. Ever see the catfish at Pymatuning Reservoir in Pa?.........so many begging bread from tourists that ducks walk on their backs. I'll try to find a site on the net......unbelievable. Right now, my only passion is reading. What with working a 12 hour shift from 7pm to 7 am, I guess my second passion is sleeping. My biological clock is all off and I want to sleep days and nights now. Well, make that three.........ch.com fills the inbetween. |

Title: Re: What's your passion...? Post by catlind on Aug 12th, 2003, 9:00am Passions? Hmmm well aside from my family, programming, computers and OUCH. Those are the things I am most passionate about. Things that I sit down to work on and 12 hours later I still think it's only been 5 min. Other things I like to do: Reading, Swimming, Sailing (I used to race 32ft C&C class, those were the days) anything to do with the water really, talking ;), ummm I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now.
