Title: Weird night last night!
Post by Patrick_A on Aug 3rd, 2003, 9:38pm
I took the dramamine last night but still woke up with a HA, but it wasn't as gawdawful as it usually is. Drifted back off to sleep but my sleeping was fitful at best. I kept waking up thinking i had a HA but i didn't. Finally got another 1 about 7am. But hey, i managed to sleep almost 6 hours without any pain. Unfortunately i had 3 more Ha's during the day but they weren't of the headbanging variety. I say a 8, 9 , 10 are headbanging Ha's.
Anyway, gonna try the Dramamine again tonight to make sure it wasnt just one of those lucky nights without the headbanger!
I almost always get my worst Ha's at night while i am alseep. Do ya'll?

PFDN, Patrick

Glad to hear your're getting a break.
Yep, the ones that wake me up about an hour after I go to sleep are usually the worst.  And after a few weeks of that it get's real scary when bedtime rolls around.
I have tried the Dramamine but w/out much success.
Hope it keeps working for you, sleep is a good thing  ;)

When Brad is in cycle he gets hit within the hour after he falls asleep wether a nap or goin ta bed....it rarely failed and he'd fight the pain then go back ta sleep hours later and 'used' ta get thru the nite but this last cycle he'd wake up 'agin around 2:00 am with shadows and threat of anouther hit and get paranoid.....(which is QUITE understandble) !! Did you say you take the draminine pills ? I take benydrly (same thing) along with my ambien (total insomniac here) and I like the liquid stuff cuz I can adjust it easier...more or less. My doc said it was ok ta do also. Pam that hopes I was of sum help but the one flavor tastes like soap

PS: I need ta quit postin b-4 I proof read......arghhhhh

Patrick,

Sometimes the dramamine will do it's thing, and sometimes it won't.  How many did you take?  I have taken up to four to get through a night, but you get a real nasty sluggishness the next morning.  It will usually help more often than not though.  Glad you had a little break from them.

And...yes, my worst ones come at night....just like a bad dream.

PFDAN,
Tracey

Yeah Roxy's rite.....fergit ta add that it will make ya sluggish or dopey in the mornin if ya have to take too much. That's why I like workin with the liquid even tho is sumtimes tastes like crap.....or soap. I can adjust how many swigs I need with the liquid junk (some nites it makes me cringe or gag) Pam that washes her own mouth out with soap flavor'd benydryl  ;)

Wake ups are the worse. Fear of going to sleep "ain't" unusual. Keep O2 by your bed.

I am wondering if you can take the dramamine every night or would it be harmful being it prevents you from going into REM sleep, anybody know?

My worst are also an hour after I fall asleep.

I always got a wake up call 1 1/2 hours after going to sleep while in cycle.  Naps always brought them on as well. Wam, bam, thank you mam ........ head crushers !  Kind of makes it hard to relax when you crawl in to bed at night !!! I just kept my Imitrex at my bedside ......... that would knock them out real fast !

Glad to hear you are getting a little relief !!!!
