Title: important to all imitrex injection users Post by erik on Jul 31st, 2003, 1:57pm glaxo has discontinued the prefilled syringes that you are used to they now make prefilled syringes only to be used with a new auto injector. for people who only use partial injections this could be very upsetting since it is very expensive allready. not to worry make sure that you save some of your old empty injections . the new ones come in a small blue container and are screwed into it, use a small object to twist the top loose, the prefilled vile will come out when held upside down, the plunger end is missing from it . now take a old syringe and pull the plunger out (discard the needle end)then remove the black rubber from the bottom, the plunger is now able to fit in the rubber of the new system make sure to push it in Gently!!! with the needle protector still in place!! otherwise all the meds will flow out. your pharmacist will try to sell you the new system but you will be able to save medication as well as $$$ by following the above steps. just another way for glaxo to make more money of an allready rediculesly expensive drug. Title: Re: important to all imitrex injection users Post by Kirk on Jul 31st, 2003, 10:34pm I'm confused here. Does this mean that my usual prescription for 30 Stat Dose cartridges a month is no longer worthwhile or what? TTFN |
