Title: Help with Oxygen!
Post by Brikalovingwife on Jul 29th, 2003, 9:06pm
Okay.  So here are my questions.  What EXACTLY do I need to ask for in terms of "dosage" in oxygen for my husband's headaches?  I understand the non rebreather mask, but the tank??????? the regulator??????? the flow??????? etc.  Can I purchase tank etc. on ebay?

Hello Brinn!
Anything below 10 lpm is not much help so get a reg
that goes to 15 turn it up until it keeps up with his
breathing rate.
You need an Rx for medical O2.
E tanks are small enough to be portable but don't last long
H tanks are very large, last a long time but are not portable
Find out if it works for him before getting excited about
what equiptment to get.
Check out this- http://www.maplefallswebdesign.com/misc/oxygen/oxygen.htm  Jonny(has a link at the bottom)is our welding O2 Guru.
Good luck and Pain free wishes to all,
                                   Billy

If you click on the thread above here -Oxygen Info, you should find what you need. A great deal of work went into the info provided there and it is priceless!

Buying? We can here from BOC but someone else will know about the US.

You want to breath 100% Oxygen from the tank... no other air... till the pain stops.

So, Den you are saying that 02 must only used at a particular flow rate expressed in LPM?  ;D

OK....all righty then...hmmmmm. I'm gettin my ass Clusterfucked right now...and I'm in a rare mood....so...before all my internal organs explode...allow me to reinterate.

Dear Brikalovingwife,
Follow the links previously suggested. O2 is wonderful.

Dear Anybody That Keeps Tellin People That There Is Some Magic Fuckin # of Leeters Per Minute,
I have been aborting Clusters for years with O2 at 8 lpm and less...(4 of them yesterday) AND NO "8" ain't no fuckin magic # either.
Please note that the O2 bag is not full in this picture. That is an empty bag. That is bad. What is needed is a bag that keeps refilling and has enough O2 in it for every single breath....and the flow rate to accomplish that, for homo sapiens on earth varies, runnning from about 4 to 25 LPM....and no 4 ain't no fucking magic # either.

To summarize....Empty bag: BAD, Full Bag: GOOD
OK folks move along...theres nothin more to see here.

Thanks for yer patience.
Good Grief

I like your style Den.  When Georgia is through with you can I have you?

I agree with Den.  Last cluster I used 8 LPM and sometimes 7 LPM.  Always worked in about 10 minutes and held the attack to about a Kip 3 during those 10 minutes.
