Title: I could kiss my neuro... Post by Melissa on Jul 29th, 2003, 4:45pm Well geez, where do I start? I had been taking Frova since last week, and ended up suffering the worst weekend of my life. Not only was I having clusters on the right side of my head, but I ended up with a migraine on the left...all weekend long. Major bummer. :( Yesterday was alright, was able to be mostly PF during the day, then got hit at 7:30 last night. After pounding my head into the carpet, I don't remember crawling into bed, because the next thing I knew, it was 11p.m. and the baby was crying. So, I fed him, then fell back to sleep, woke up what seemed every 15min. At 4a.m. this morning, woke again to feed him, and ended up with ANOTHER migraine. Nothing like throwing up and feeding your kid at the same time. It finally went away at 11a.m., and I was able to pull myself together to take a shower and relax a bit before going to my neuro appt. at 2:20p.m. After I got there, I told her that the Frova was giving me migraines, (I haven't had migraines for 11 years!), and the Depakote she put me on, was making my brain feel like it was slowly bubbling and frying and making me dizzy. The only good thing about it, was that the frequency of my attacks were less, but not the intensity. Soooo, she put me on 250mg instead of the 500mg and wrote me scripts for 3 boxes of imitrex injections and 12 nasal sprays with 5 refills each!! OMG, I almost started to cry. BUT, the real test was to see what my insurance was going to cover...or not cover. So, went to the pharmacy, and it turns out, my ins. does not have a cap on how many I can have per month, I just need to make a co-payment each time I come to get the refills. Which is $64 for the 3 boxes of injections and $54 for the 12 nasals. I am looking at my meds in front of me, and thanking God that I will be taken care of, and also praying that my fellow Clusterheads will have the same good fortune as me. I love you guys :-* Phew! Mel, who isn't used to being so long winded! |

And I will do everything I can to help our fellow CH'ers that are not as fortunate :) Great news indeed Mel. Cat |
