Title: Wierd Cycle This Time Post by There_Back on Jul 28th, 2003, 10:51am It's been about three weeks now, at first I would get 1 or 2 in a day then a couple real bad ones in the middle of the night, (that's normal for, me almost 20 years now). once I went 3 years pf and once I went 2 years otherwise its every year approx same time of year. Anyway, last year in the middle of a cycle my doc put me on Verelan PM 200mg night and morning, and a 50mg imitrex tablet before bed everynight, also imitrex injections(which I hold tightly but never use. Well, almost never) Then my cycle left in just two weeks. I thought it was the cure. (WRONG) I went 2 years pain free and now there back, I'm using the same drugs but for some reason everything is different this time, I get 5 to 10 ha's a day now, anywhere from a 10min #4 to a 60min #8 to #10 a couple 6's or so and shadows most of the day. But the wierd thing is that I sleep fine all night every night from about 10pm to about 6am with no visits from the beast. anyone heard of such a thing. |

Title: Re: Wierd Cycle This Time Post by Ree on Jul 28th, 2003, 2:57pm Are any of those meds preventative meds... Dave has great luck with Neurontin. It seems to help keep most at bay. He has been getting hit really bad lately but upped the dose and he had a PF night last night finally. Verapamil works for some too... Good luck and if there is anything we can do give a shout... Title: Re: Wierd Cycle This Time Post by don on Jul 28th, 2003, 3:40pm If you have been off meds for 2 years now it is probable that your system is drug sensitve especially to the Verelan PM 200mg. You haven't yet built up a tolerance or resistance. |
