FYI Statistically speaking the distribution of blood types is something like this in the US...
Blood Type    Rough Distribution    Percentage
O+    1 person in 338.4%
O-    1 person in 157.7%
A+    1 person in 332.3%
A-    1 person in 166.5%

B-    1 person in 671.7%

The Red Cross gave me a card w/my blood type on it the first time I donated and they stamp it everytime I go back.

3 more donations and I get a free fill up.  :D

When I was in high school biology we learned all about blood types and stuff. One kid knew his type was A, and both of his parents were O. When he went home that day his parents had some explainig to do. ;D

Frank, my father was A- and my mom was O+, I'm O- tried to figure that one out for a long time LOL

I was told (dunno if it's true) that certain blood types can be manufactured.

Interesting thing is when I was 18 my blood type was A- according to the docs that took out my appendix.  According to every other doc that has drawn my blood starting when I was pregnant with my first at 24, my blood is O-.

Go figure.  I always wanted to be different ;)

There is only one thing, you cannot donate blood if you are on certain medications, such as Lithium.  At least that's what I was told by the Red Cross...

Red cross sees me coming the lock the doors cause of the tats, like Mel says they wont let you donate while your on certain crazy drugs.

Hell, I should just ask my Neuro seeing that I have a blood test every six months but I havent had one in 14 months.....LMMFAO ;D

Gotta love a work place that takes your money and dosent pay the premiums, I marched in there and got a damn check (I think I scared them....LOL) for 4 months of  monies takin. scumbags will never do that again!

This is probably for another thread....oh well ;D

Approximately 85% of Caucasian Americans have a positive Rh factor.

Approximately 90% of African Americans have a positive Rh factor.

Sorry, my source only lists for the American population.

As for blood type - Bruce D already put the info in this thread, but "A+" is the 2nd most common blood type, preceded only by a small percent by "O+".

Data so far seems to indicate a statistically significant number of Chers are A+ or AB+ (compared to the general population). Need more responses though.
