Title: 1st PF night in 2 weeks Post by Melissa on Jul 24th, 2003, 12:04pm Well, I had my neuro visit on Tues. She was awesome! It did help that she was a friend of my mothers, but she was very open and willing to work with me to get the relief I so desperately needed! (I will be listing her on the CH doctors page) Anyhoo, we decided on a combo of Frova (2.5mg 2x day) and Depakote (500mg extended release), plus we are tapering me off the Predisone (I was at 80mg daily). She gave me enough samples of Frova for 4 days (to see if they would help), plus enough Depakote to last 12 (edited) days (until my follow-up appt. with her). Also, for just in case, 2 boxes of trex. Well, I took a Depakote that night and went to bed. Woke up my usual hour later with a CH, but the CH was on the low end of the kip scale, I'd say about a 4. This went on for the next 3 hours, then it disappeared. I was able to tolerate the pain with ice packs and tons of rubbing and rocking. I went back to bed after all of that, and woke up in the a.m. with a dull HA in the back of my head. I took another Depakote and a Frova, and went through the day PF (except for occasional dull constant HA) in a drug induced state. My body absorbs meds like a sponge, and I seem to get all the side effects that are listed! LOL Anyhoo, last night I was able to sleep through the night with NO CH!!! I only woke up twice to feed the baby, but never got hit. I feel tons better today, the side effects arn't as noticable and I am keeping my fingers crossed. I will keep everyone updated on my progress. ;D mel |

Title: Re: 1st PF night in 2 weeks Post by Hooter on Jul 24th, 2003, 7:08pm Melissa Great news. Hope it carries on! The only good thing I can think of is that most Ch sufferers are good at dealing with life when sleep deprived, in my experience this is bloody useful when dealing with a baby! Love Hooter |
