For those of you that think that a convention is all about partying and you don't learn anything? Think it's all about the "click" getting closer?

Read the stories from the folks that were at this convention......

It's not about a party with the "click", it's about a life changing experience!

I gotta tell ya DJ, I've only had the privilege of small get togethers and that was a life changing event.

Bill, Deb, Ree, Dave, Nancy, Jonny

Felt like we had been family for years and just been putting off the family cookouts. I have never felt instant connections like I did with these guys. Something special going on here.

AND WE PARTIED !

We need to find a cure for the convention depression separation anxiety disorder blues.....even Brad has it bad......we had way too much fun.......it was AWESOME ! Very sorry to of missed meeting you Don. Pam that is red, white and 'blue' ;)

Pam, I cant even put into words how badly I felt (and feel) to have missed out on meeting everybody.

I've got the convention blues but for a differant reason.

I have had some trouble expressing my thoughts on the convention....
it was amazing to watch the support that ch'ers gave to eachother, to know that they "knew" and how that though it was difficult to watch their brothers and sisters go thru it, that they would be ok. To learn at once, and to feel floored by the experience of watching and being with someone during a cluster attack. I fell apart afterwards. But as with everyone who needed it, there was more than one person there to catch me.

It was a privilege to meet everyone, to be in their company and to share and witness so many special moments. It was not only to party together, but to cry, to laugh, to learn so much that is on the horizon, and to feel progress and hope. To feel hope finally for a friend, actually, more than one friend now, that has been hanging on. To know the joy of people making the connections they've waited all their lives to make..... and the humility behind the person who brought everyone together.
I am only human, and I could not escape the magnitude of the impact of this event, even if I tried.

I'd enjoy attending a conv or get together if at all possible. Problem is I'm a divorced dad with an 8 year old son who lives in Dallas.

I only get quality time with him during the summer months and cannot imagine taking even one weekend away from him while he "visits" me.

Keep me posted on other get togethers please. I have to admit after reading the conv updates that I feel like I am missing out on something huge.

Although I have talked to other CHers, I have never actually met such a person.

Jmin - Dallas TX? Do you come down here or does he go up there? If yer down here, I am sure we can arrange something. Den and I only get the weekends with our son, and thus don't do anything that would take time away from him.

We have been thinking about putting together a small Texas get together anyway.

Actually, as my name states, I am up in the Milwaukee area which is were my son visits.

I do, however, try to get to Dallas twice a year under the guise of "training". This way the company ofsets some ot the travel expense.

I'll give you a holler when I book the next trip down.

Actually Milwaukee is under consideration for next years convention. Maybe you should do some stumping over in the BoD section of the OUCH Business Board.

Okay, at the convention this kick-ass spider was bestowed to me. It's cool. It musta scared the crap outta the earwigs because I haven't seen any since returning from the convention. Seriously.

I hope that pic is on the cd somewhere. I haven't looked at the cd yet, I made 30 copies of it and am sending off several to those attending that didn't get one, but I haven't seen it yet.

Milwaukee is a possible convention site! That would be cool 8) That be my hood. Maybe it could be planned during Summerfest (July 4th week) or something like that.
