Went to the doc this morning to get meds for the transition during the move. Got lucky with a doc that knows about CH. Told him I wanted trex, and enough to get me through til I get a neuro in Omaha.

He had to check with the cardio, and I got approval for 2 mg injections!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They had to put in a special request for the vials though, but, THEY GAVE ME 35 VIALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in trex heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having the cardio recommend the 2mg injections made it so I can get the vials instead of the stat dose :)

Life is goooooooooooood right now!!!!!!!!!!

Stuey, you have to get the vials and needles and load the needles with 2mg. The kicker is that 2mg is equally as effective, with much less danger and side effects than 6mg for a CH'er. That was something that Dr. Bigal pointed out to us.

Glaxo has a 3mg injection out there somewhere, but won't go public with it because they don't want people to know that 3 mg is as effective for CH as 6 mg is. They are making their money on the 6mg injections.

The good thing is you can get it in vials (no idea the cost) and in 4 years Glaxo's patent runs out on trex ;)

So chuffed for you Cat!
I know how good it feels 'cos for the first time I now have a spare room stocked with a pretty oxygen cylinder and my stash of Imigran. It is a wonderful 'safe' feeling that I never had in my cycle last year.
The fear is gone and I'm SURE for me it makes the pain less.

Cat, so glad for you hon

And thanks for the tips............because of mail order prescription plan and a major screw up that actually "HELPED" me more than hurt.....I too have the vials of trex............and will certainly try using only the 2 mg instead of 6.

At the end of last cycle I had used only 3mg and that worked fine, but it was at the end of the cycle.....so will try and see.
