Title: Re: Free translation.com Post by Opus on Jul 17th, 2003, 3:03pm Google will do the same thing, To the right of the search bar is language tools, click on that and at the botom of the page is a place to put in the URL of the web site, If you want to use it a lot when you get the page of the site you use most or the home page then just set that as a book mark and you won't have to go through the steps again, freetranslation does provide a better translation. Title: Re: Free translation.com Post by Ueli on Jul 17th, 2003, 4:31pm For that of you wish the services of ch com or ch org to use, that these website only web-site in you innate or preferred language translate will. This is Don's text translated to Dutch and back to English, could you call it Double Dutch? ;D Automatic translation is still in it's infancy. It is therefore sometimes helpful to try different translation engines. The following site gives you the choice of quite a few translation services, some know even rather exotic languages (Note: Into some translators you can plug an URL, to translate whole web pages.): German is notoriously difficult to translate to and from, because of the weird positioning of the words. I found the Russian "PROMT online translator" scores best in this respect: PFNADs Ueli PS: Does anybody know of a translation site that could render Kim's gibberish intelligible? |

Title: Re: Free translation.com Post by don on Jul 17th, 2003, 9:22pm Vulcantranslate.com ? Ueli that was funny. Another caution about using translation sites.......Some languages, probably most, have differant dialects. I may be suggesting using imitrex but the reader is reading that I suggest he go water his horse. LOL Nothing is 100% but can be useful anyhoot. |

Title: Re: Free translation.com Post by Anthem on Jul 17th, 2003, 10:57pm Looks like freetranslation.com took over for one of the original sites, babblefish.com. For those that don't know what a babblefish is, you probably don't have the right question for the answer "42" either... :) Clark |
