ok. not everyones favorite subject but after finding out the hard way about the very annoying side effect of verapamil and days, 10 to be exact of extreme discomfort if found the cure. this of course after trying everything else under the sun including : 6 senna-s a day , 2 bottles of mag citrate, 3 correctol, and a few days of chelated mg. All i had to do was eat a bag of carbolite jelly bean!!!!!!. now i eat 5 jelly beans in the morning and no problems!!!!!!!!. what a relief. hope this helps someone else. sugar alcohol. who knew. krista

Yup, good ole Sorbitol... has that effect on some people. Personally I prefer the apple juice and nuts. Ahhhh.... plop...

I never have to resort to these tricks, but I have relatives who had. So:

A. Glass of warmish water every morning on an empty stomach
B. Prunes, handful, every day at breakfast
C. Black coffee and a smoke before breakfast (Baad for you)
D. A handful of figs any time of the day
E. A spoon ful of oil every day at bedtime
F. All of the above, then go out and buy a laxative... lol

For those of you, like me, that can't stand prunes...(unless they are still plums LOL) Try dried prunes... Taste much better and should work the same.

Ave, for "C" black coffee and a smoke before breakfast... that was my regulator of choice... until I got older and now, I get such wretched acid indigestion from it, I have to have cream and sugar in my first cup to pad it out.... it sucks getting older when your mind stays young.....sigh....

Stuff containing losts of malt is good. Same effect as some prescription stuff for many.

It's never been a problem for me and I think my epilepsy drugs are responsible.

This thread really moves me.
