Title: I'd just like to bookmark this Post by Margi on Jul 4th, 2003, 9:02pm I have to make the comment to keep things in perspective here. Yes, we as a family fight amongst ourselves but when the chips are down, we really DO stand back to back, instead of toe to toe - as we often bitch about here. The overwhelming common thread of support that we've offered to Jill/Barbara has really astounded me. We've ALL stuck to the same hard line and faced this very life-threatening problem the way we should have: with genuine love and heartfelt concern. We all actually have shared the same opinion for once in our ch.com lives here people! How cool is that! I honestly believe that all we can do now for Jill is put this in God's in-box and trust that He will find her relief from her pain. For those of you that don't believe, so be it, but I think it's time we just let Jill find her own path - we've done all we can here and ...you know what? We've done well. Go pat yourself on the back everyone - we found unity on this one. THIS is what this place is all about. Remind yourself about this thread when you next see family members fighting over picky-ass stuff, ok? |

Title: Re: I'd just like to bookmark this Post by Wendy the Brit on Jul 4th, 2003, 9:09pm Margi I agree with every word. Time to hand this over completely to them and whatever higher power individuals believe in (and the neuro's of course). Been said before, but must be done this time! I can only guess what it took for some people here to post what they did. I have a vague idea what it costs as I did a lot of heart searching before posting some tough stuff to Jill in the past, then agonised over whether I had done harm rather than good. You are brave and kind people.I only hope that when the anger is over, they will see this too. W the B |

Title: doors of perception and perspiration Post by rumplestiltskin on Jul 5th, 2003, 12:01pm things are not always as they seem...and sometimes they are. One of the most untruthful things possible, you know, is a collection of facts, because they can be made to appear so many different ways. --Dr. Karl Menninger People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Be good anyway. Honesty and frankness will make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People need help, but may attack you if you try to help them. Help them anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. Title: Re: I'd just like to bookmark this Post by kim on Jul 5th, 2003, 12:25pm There is that and there is more. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. What is today may not always be what is tomorrow. -Time does it's work. :) |

Title: Re: I'd just like to bookmark this Post by oringkid on Jul 6th, 2003, 2:58pm You are soo right Margi. And even those of us who are non-believers know that there comes a time when you have done all that you can for another and it is up to that person to decide which road to follow. But I would like to add that I feel we all saw the danger and tried our best to help. I am honored to be in the company of such caring individuals. "Tough Love" is terribly hard to give, and almost always is met with anger, denial and accusations. But, hopefully, down the road, it will have helped to save someone, or help them get the help they need. For now, we can only sit back and hope (or pray :)) Sherry |
