Hello Everyone,

I havn't been much help to the group lately and have come up with an idea on how I can chip in.

I was thinking of making a quilt to raffle off at next year's convention with all proceeds going to OUCH.  The idea is that everyone sends a scrap of cloth (preferably cotton) with a design on it that they like.  Doesn't need to be too big..5 inches by 5 inches would be great.  If you could include your name (online name or real name doesn't matter) and the approximate date you first got attacked by the beast; I could embroider that onto the cloth you sent and sew it into one big quilt.  Then next year we can raffle it off with all proceeds going to OUCH.

Supporters send in your stuff too and the approximate date you became a supporter.

so let me know what you all think :)

Juvy I think that's an awesome idea.  Not sure it would work out too well to do at the convention, but there is nothing that says you can't auction it off right here online and have the proceeds go to the OUCH convention kitty.

Great thinking!  I will have to save my money so I'm sure to win it! ;)

Genius.  Please post an address or tell us how to go about contributing.  It would be AWESOME to be able to look at the quilt and *know* who donated each square.  Excellent idea.

tassels.........ha-ha-ha-ha..........now that was funny and I actually got a visual........4 end tassles of hair. Sorry my hair's not up fer grabs Pam  ;D

hehe, the hair.  my hair is extra long, and I was actually contemplating (not seriously of course) cutting it since I keep hearing stupid comments on tv about grown men who refuse to cut their hair...  Anyway, when I mentioned it to my boss, he absolutely forbid me to cut my hair.  He says it's my 'trademark'.  He says people would lose respect for me if I cut my hair (ha! nobody has respect for me, what does HE know).

that made me laugh.

I love this idea!  Just let me know when and where to send you the cloth.  I'll start saving now so I can buy the raffle tickets.

I was very touched by your generous offer to make the quilt.  My grandmother made quilts and I know how much work they are!  You are a generous spirit.

Sherry, LOL the 5x5 give me enough space to cut the squares into shapes to sew together.

I'll have the mailing address posted soon.  The sooner we get the pieces sent in the sooner the quilt is finished :)

Juvy, that was an absolutely brilliant idea!! The result will be very meaningful to the one who gets the quilt.  
Count me in, I just have to think of what I'd like to put on my square.  hmm....???

:)A fantastic idea...the personal touch is always a winner...will be interesting to see how large a quilt this will become...now, the challenge...finding a patch that will remind everyone of ME... ::)

Hello,

sorry i've been missing in action.  didn't realize the days were passing by so fast.  I'm setting up a mailbox for the quilt pieces to be sent to.  Hubby is a little paranoid about giving out our address.  For some reason he thinks some of you people are weird  ;) (No offense meant, he's just a paranoid kinda guy)

I should have the information by next week and you can start sending in your patches.

I thank all of you for responding so positively.  I'm probably go back into lurk mode as I need to redo my entire Website and this may take some time.   I'm currently working on an essay called:

"Do you have a headache?" & Other Stupid Things to Say.

It's mainly a vent to all those peeps out there who think:
1. I'm  faking it
2. they understand, they have migraines
3. that taking aspirin or any headache medicine will help

They're really starting to annoy me :)


So I'll be around.  *waves to Don* I'm officially lurking now.  ;D
