Hey ya'll. Mikey's wife Kim here. Just got home from the hospital and thought I would drop by. Thank you all soooo much for all the vibes and prayers going around for Mike. They are much needed and much appreciated. You guys are a truly amazing bunch of people. I don't know what he would do without you all. He's going to be in the hospital for a couple of days or so. His doc wants to see if they can't give him some relief from the pain. I think he's at the worst I've seen him, rock bottom. Bad thing is his long time neuro doc. has just retired and he'll be in the hands of his gp and some new neuro doc. We'll see how it goes. Again, THANK YOU ALL for the vibes and prayers. My GP is nearing retirement. I shudder to think what I will do when that happens... he is a migraine sufferer and he kind of knows what I am going through. Been my GP for over 15 years... he better live forever and keep working forever or I'll be forced to kill him.

Kim......thanks so much for updating us.......we ch'ers worry so about our cluster family because we know how unique we are and that nobody (except supporters like you) know what we go through.

Sounds like he's had a really bad time.

Why don't you join us supporters in the Supporters section of this mb? We give each other the boost we need to keep going, and share feelings that really need to be aired. We'd love to see you there.

Kim thanks for the update. I hope yall find some much needed PF time soon. I sincerely hope he gets the so very much needed help from the docs. We'll keep the vibes and prayers coming for yall. Send Mike a hug from all of us here in my place and let him know we are pullin for him BIG TIME!!

Wellbutrin did wonders for my depression during a bad set back in '98. Ask his doctor about it.
I'm praying for you guys. Hang tough! :)

I just talked to Kim and she said Mike's going to be in the hospital for 5 days. He has 'Trex injections @ the nurses station and they are putting him on some kind of steroid, not prednisone, to help break the cycle. They are reluctant to try DHE becuse it has not worked for him in the past.

More to follow when I know anything...

Keep vibing/praying for this guy.

Hi all, just wanted to drop by while I had a minute to give you all a howdy from Mike. He's on day two of the steroid treatment, an IV drip, one bag in an hour of dexamethasone. (I think that's what it is) They were going to use solumedrol but it wasn't available anymore. Sending him home with the six week taper of prednisone. Seemed to have a little better night last night, he's got three more days to go. He hasn't had much luck with this in the past but maybe this time he will. He says his spirits and hopes are up a little now and he is really praying for a break. He also says tell you all THANKS for the vibes and prayers and he is thinking of you all, PFDAN. Kim

Two e-mails from Kim about Mikey: :D

Hi Tom, just wanted to let you know that Mike got to come home today. He had been told mid-week but his family doctor came in this morning and said that everything had been lined up as far as his meds to go home with and his doctor appointments had been scheduled for him and that he could leave either today or tomorrow, it was up to him, so he chose today. He's feeling a good deal better, as far as I can tell, ch's aren't gone by any means but they sure seem to have let up some, but he is really upset on his stomach, the steroids I guess. Hope he will feel up to getting online soon, I know he's missed talking to you all. Feel free to post whatever on the message board. Hope you have a nice evening. Kim

Charlotte is having a big fireworks show tonight and the hospital is just a few blocks from downtown and I think we'll have a great view from the 7th floor that he's on.
