Title: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by LeLimey on Feb 12th, 2006, 4:13pm Hello Everyone, I've organised a series of meet and greets around the UK with permission from OUCH UK. You don't have to be a member of OUCH UK to turn up, just a cluster head or a supporter. Meeting other CHers face to face for the first time was one of the best experiences of my life. Being all able to compare experiences and share tips that had helped us cope with our attacks was beyond description! I felt more empowered by that meeting than any Imigran injection. Below is the list of dates/locations organised already. I'm hoping to be able to add a couple more so please check back for updates. Hopefully you can make it along to one near you. They will literally consist of a small group of people meeting in a pub for a drink and a chat. I will have loads of information leaflets and help with O2 etc to hand as well. You can stay for as long or as short a time as you wish - but I can guarantee you will go away having made new friends and feeling more positive than you would have believed! For more information on times/how we’ll recognize one another etc - or if you have any other queries - please contact me either by email or im here. 2006 Dates and Locations for the informal get-togethers: 18th September Somerset: King Sedgemoor Inn, Express Park, Bristol Road, Bridgwater TA6 4RR. Exit M5 Junc23 and follow the A38 south towards Bridgwater. Restaurant is on the first roundabout after about a mile. 16th October Blackpool: Brewsters, Yeadon Way, Southshore, Blackpool, Lancs FY1 6BF. From J32 – M6 follow the M55 to the end. Continue along carriageway following signs for Blackpool Main Car Parking. Brewsters is on left hand side. Turn left for entry at first mini-roundabout. 20th November Birmingham: Brewers Fayre, The Ridgacre, New Gas Street, West Bromwich, West Midlands B70 0NP. From Jl – M5 take the A41 Expressway dual carriageway. At the third roundabout - the Brewers Fayre is on the right hand side. 11th December London: The Cambridge, Cambridge Circus, London (next to Palace Theatre). Nearest Tube stations Leicester Square, Tottenham Court Road and Covent Garden all 0.2 miles. I really look forward to meeting you. Helen edited as dates have changed |

Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by LeLimey on Feb 13th, 2006, 11:41am No problem Matt! I already have that in hand, there will still be more to get added into this list, this is just what's set so far. I've promised my lil sis (Mrs Mac) that I'll organise one for Glasgow too and there will be SEVERAL coming up in London including a ladies night only (next time Mrs Mac is in town!) We'll make the photo's for that one pay-per-view so we can get a bail fund going.... ;) |

Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by LeLimey on Jul 21st, 2006, 7:35am BLOODY GREAT BUMP! LOL |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by paul2006 on Jul 21st, 2006, 10:39pm We need to get a meet sorted for South and WEST WALES ;;D England is over 100 miles away from us here in Pembrokeshire, never mind anywhere beyond the border... and I know there are CH'ers hiding down this way [Val from ouch-uk who I haven't yet met is about 10 miles away from me]... We also have to pay money to come back home across the Severn Bridge, which isn't fair!! [especially as it's owned by a French company!] Swansea would be good... or Cardiff maybe... or perhaps even Carmarthen or Narberth ::) Amy suggestions/ideas more than welcome!!!! |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by LeLimey on Jul 22nd, 2006, 7:00am I shall liase with others and fit one in for you Paul! How does during the October half term grab you so I can make sure it get's into a CHit CHat between now and then? That would be best for me since I'm the one travelling LOL I'll get back to you with a date early next week Helen |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by paul2006 on Jul 24th, 2006, 10:26pm October would be good :) But... I've heard a rumour ;;D that you are getting a visit from the American Narberth in September... perhaps she would like to visit 'our' Narberth???? cough cough... hint, hint... [smiley=laugh.gif] I'm sure Val H. would agree [even though we haven't yet met]. But if that's not possible, [thinks 1/2 term = kids @ school?] whatever you think is fine by me!! |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by LeLimey on Jul 25th, 2006, 10:06am I'll see what I can do! ;;D |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by nani on Jul 25th, 2006, 10:48am Paul, 100 miles away? I just drove over 1300 miles to see my Clusterbuddies... it was well worth it, I assure you. Especially if one of them is Helen. My only advice: don't bring the kids. ;) |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by paul2006 on Jul 27th, 2006, 9:55am Hi Nani It's definitely a Brit thing!! I have thought about going to one of the other meets [Bridgewater] and may well do so, but also think that we could have one in Wales as well ;) I used to drive 2,500 miles every week btw as a delivery driver... it's not the drive, just would be nice to get a more 'local' group going down here in the Wild West of Wales :) Kids?? They are long gone ;;D ;;D |

Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by Cathi04 on Aug 16th, 2006, 7:59pm OK.what's the diff between a roundabour, and a mini roundabout?? Ya never know when I might decide to cross the pond, and I certainly wouldn't want to mess up in following directions Cathi.err, in Oregon, today, at least! ;;D |
Title: Re: Meet and Greets in the UK Post by LeLimey on Aug 17th, 2006, 6:28am A roundabout is a big island in the middle of a junction and a mini roundabout is a painted circle on the road Don't worry though Cathi, I'll be the designated drive-everyone-nuts-er when you come to stay! ;;D |
