Even though Chicago seems to be the closest, maybe we can find a more central location that everyone would be able to make a little more easily. Not that Chicago is a bad choice, I was just thinking maybe there is something a little more south-west that would be easier for Cat and Jim to make and save us ALL the hassle of driving in Chicago. That alone is enough to make me cringe in fright. Not volunteering to organize , but, maybe we could meet in IOWA say the Quad Cities. It would cut down driving time for those west (like nebraska, and minnesota), and only lengthen it an hour or so for those who are south of Chicago like St. Louis. its only one or two hours west of Rockford where Woobie and I are. And its alot less of a hassle to get around since woobie and I are originally from there we would know where to go. :) Ramon |

Davenport, IA) I Spoke with the GM at the SteepleGate For about an hour today and got us some great rates, This is a very nice hotel, with a great bar, very nice restaurant, large indoor pool with alot of tables and lounge areas, I explained the purpose of our meeting and he was very helpful, not to mention I personally know the owner, who never goes there, but I did drop the name LOL http://www.bestwestern.com/prop_16083 With the use of this type hotel the won't be much reason to have to leave, everything we need will be there. Rates are $99.00 single occupancy, However I was able to negotiate these rates Hows $64.00 double occupancy sound and that includes a killer breakfest buffett. Here's the catch we need to book 10 rooms so I need to know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE how many of you will be in attendence. I'm going to post this in general post as well LEE |

I am in the phonebook if ya like to meet and say howdy. I would most likly get room and stick around with everyone. And if not here the same get a room I cant drive at nite not to drive really at all cause of meds lalalalala lol. BTW I am chonic since Nov. 1999. Before that only spring and fall for 15 years. I used to go there all the time to fish the slough upstream from Lock&Dam 14 AND I got a buddy with the Corps of Engineers that is based at L&D14.Used to do alot of fishin and waterfowl hunting at the Princeton wildlife area and up the road at the Buffalo Bill Cody Homestead (a buddys Uncle owns it) I also lived in the Quad Cities (Iowa Side) for damn near 30 years before moving to the Rockford area. Hell, we just moved from Bettendorf in '99-'00. Can't wait to meet ya all in person............oughtta be be a hoot!!!! IS IT JANUARY YET????????????!!!!! Ramon |
