Title: Imitrex cost Post by mcf69 on Dec 5th, 2005, 10:33pm OK, it's official, my fall/winter cycle has started and now I'm afraid to go to sleep. I had some Imitrex nasal spray left over from last winter and used my last dose last night, they were samples the doc had given me. I called today and asked for more and the doctor told me he doesn't get samples of trex anymore, and he wanted me to switch to injectible anyway, so he wrote me a script. I went to the local drug store to get it filled and found out that it is $1507.90 for 10 doses, needless to say I didn't get it filled. I've tried melatonin, 3, 6, 9, 12 mg, even tried it with benedryl and no luck. Looks like it's just the O2 this time around, at least thats affordable. I was looking on the Glaxo Smith Kline website and saw that they have a program for people who can't afford prescription drugs, I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck getting free trex out of them? I have my doubts because I've been turned down by every public assistance medical program out there, so I don't know if they will help me out. Anybody have any ideas?, any cheap websites they use?, anything? |

Title: Re: Imitrex cost Post by marlinsfan on Dec 6th, 2005, 8:42am Sorry to hear bout your problems. I've been on the imitrex web-site, and all I got was $10 coupons. They have time restrictions, so I can only use 1 per month. I remember reading here that somebody from Las Vegas (that may even be his name) drove to Mexico for meds, and got imigran (imitrex) pretty cheap. O2 works great for me. Since I found it, I've only aborted with trex very very rarely. |

Title: Re: Imitrex cost Post by mcf69 on Dec 6th, 2005, 12:35pm E-PM'd you back, thanks. Thanks for the tip Marlin, too bad all you can get are the $10 coupons. I ended up getting a whole crap load of samples from the neurology dept at Fletcher Allen/UVM in Burlington VT, my doc called over this morning and checked for me, my Dad had to go over for an appointment, so he's picking them up right now. I guess the bigger teaching hospitals get more stuff and are less stingy than the rinky dink hospitals around here.... :D |

Title: Re: Imitrex cost Post by mcf69 on Dec 6th, 2005, 9:54pm I ended up calling GSK anyway to see what they offer and they have quite a few programs to help with costs of scripts. I have all the numbers and web addresses if anyone ever needs them, let me know. |

Title: Re: Imitrex cost Post by unsolved1 on Dec 6th, 2005, 10:31pm I used to get 10 refills (20 needles) of Imitrex injections per month through the Glaxco patient assistance program. They can and do help ppl get meds. Your doctor has to be the one to fill out the forms though. You can't do it without your doc. UNsolved PS. I just get free samples from my doc now ;;D |

I just cant resist here. RC- Rivea Corymbosa seeds are around $14.50 for 100 seeds delivered to your door. They are longer lasting, work to completely abort CH before they hit, can be used to actually stop a cycle by some, allow for daily living while in cycle, in my case can be used on a maintenance basis, zero nasty side effects, convenience of not shooting up in public, 10 seeds may do what 10 shots of immitrex does. Therefore cost comparison is immitrex $1,507.00 vs. RC seeds $1.45 including shipping. Equals a difference of $1,505.55 in your pocket to spend however you wish. Please if this persuades even one, Read all you can ask for advice and know what you are taking. edit to add; I dropped .90 cents in the equations so donate that to CH.com. |
