Title: Melatonin for happiness
Post by aharonbenjamin on Nov 29th, 2005, 4:34pm
Hi, I have just recently started using melatonin to induce happiness.  I find that it may be helping but it is so far making my sleeping patters a little irregular.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Never heard of it being used for "happiness" - just for sleep.  Sometimes I have happy dreams, though.

Perhaps that's why your sleep patterns are screwed up.  It's not meant to be taken during the day.

Thornhill is on the outskirts of Toronto so that would place the poster in Ontario and about 30 minutes from Major I would think.

that would be Thornhill ON though, wouldn't it, Carol?  I just haven't heard of a province called OOE before.
Figured maybe I'd missed one. ;)

It's an Eastern Canada thing!  We're plotting the takeover of the country from your westerners! LOL!

I read something about how it stimulates endorphines in the penial gland or somthing.  A famous philosopher named Descartes said that that pineal gland is the 'seat of the soul'.  Maybe that is connected?

If you take it 30 mins before bed it won't mess with your sleep times.  ;)

Melatonin with a happy ending for me.

Irregular sleep patterns? Not compared to sleep patterns when getting hit!

That explains it ... The pineal gland is the seat of the soul, and we have heavy souls that sat too long on the pineal gland and crushed it.  Now we lack melatonin!   ;;D

Seriously, though, melatonin has been shown to help with cluster headaches.  Not a silver bullet, but helpful for about half of people in placebo controlled trials.

It sounds good, but I've tried that and I found that it was actually keeping me up all night!  Now I tried taking it in the AM, but it still seems to be keeping me up at night.  Go figure...
