Hi all,

I'm a newbie and have been a episodic sufferer for about eleven years. I thought it was a rare condition until I found CH.com. Damn the beast has found so many.....I never realised that there was so much research put into it(thank goodness, it's about time...)
Every time I suffer an episode all the doctors tell me is that I suffer from CH and to take damn anti inflammatories, anti-depressents, sinus medication and all kinds of other crap because clearly they have no idea as what the hell is going on !!!!

Thanks to you guys for starting this up. 8)

I live in South Africa in a place called Richards Bay.
And am battling my ass off to find Kudzu in this place.
It's too expensive to import...So if there is anybody who can help please let me know...

Hey Jayman, I used to live in Richards Bay! A pity we have never met or known of each other, I'm in Mozambique now and this site have been a life safer for me.

I also wanted to try Kudzu but can't find it anywhere.

I'm not sure what you consider "too expensive," but if $40 worth of product costs you $400 when purchased, then that'd suck. Would it help if one of your dear friends mailed you a case of kudzu as a Christmas gift? (You _may_ have to become a Methodist for it to work.) Just wondering if there's a way around the funky gov't stuff, w/o getting nailed bartering rhino horn or dik dik furs for kudzu.

RJ the problem with the SA postal system is that I think incoming posts get the full treatment.

X-Ray, sniffer dogs and the like. No foreign plant or animal materials or medical supplies are allowed into the country without a permit with red tape that can easily span the globe. I have not received my "parcel" yet from Helen posted to SA and that was a few months ago.

The Rand/Dollar exchange rate is now 6.7 or somewhere in that vicinity. So for us to order anything we have to pay nearly seven times the amount you pay.

Our salary system is very low while living costs are very high. For me this has always been a catch 22 situation.

I'm sure that many of us would gladly pitch in and send lots of kudzu to you all in Africa... the trouble is... how the heck can we get it here?
We need to brainstorm on this, people...
our sisters and brothers are suffering...

My niece is married to a guy from SA and they travel there to visit family once in a while. Does anyone know if it would be stopped in a baggage search at customs in the airport there?

I'd rather not ask him if it might be something that could get him tossed into jail. He'd probably do it anyway and not tell me it was a problem, and then my brother would make ME fly there to extricate his grandchildren's father. I'd then get into an argument with customs, tossed into jail and Nani would have to come get ME out. :o

It's a supplement, so, not really plant material anymore. Also not really a medical product, right?

My goodness [smiley=laugh.gif] Bob and Nani, now that is what I'll call committed.

I think it will be a case eventually of me and Jay getting all of you out of jail but it will have to be a jailbreak. ;;D

I really don't know how safe it would be and if it would be worth getting a criminal record in the process. :o :-/

Maybe if the seeds were scattered at the bottom of toiletry bags, suitcase inner lining or bottom of handbag it may be seen only as the normal foreign material that gets hauled in when coming from vacation?

If dogs can't sniff it and people don't recognise it and it's not packaged, then maybe. Oooh, does this make me a criminal, do I have a criminal mind... yes but I blame the CH and SA Customs!

Jas I ordered kudzu from an online company called. www.vitacost.com
Can you have a look and see if you can ask anyone of those sort of supplements, as that is all kudzu is can be ordered and sent to SA? If so we have it sorted!! :)

Thanks to all of you who are prepared to go to jail just to give a fellow sufferer a couple of bottles of kudzu.

But my sister works for a company that deals in chinese herbal medicines and supplements and I've asked her to try and get me some kudzu(or maybe a alternative herbal medicine for headaches pain etc....) if she comes up with anything I'll let all you wonderful wannabe criminals know(HA HA HA)

But thanks again for this totally fab site it's been a real lifesaver!!!

I did a Google search for Kudzu & RSA and only come up with some info in that it’s becoming a problem as a noxious weed in S.A.

I also tried looking for natural therapies’ found a few but once again no reference to Kudzu, I’m wondering if it may be worth Emailing some of the natural therapy supplier’s and see if they could source it for you.

Still no news from my sister but she will keep trying for me. Thanks for all the advice.

I'm into my remission stage. 3 days without a CH it's been pure bliss. My remissions last anywere from 2 weeks to 2 months (Lets hope it's 2 months....or mybe it would be nice if it were two decades or something like that :P)

Maybe I should find out how to bottle kudzu then I could supply the whole of SA.

Make lots of money and travel the world visisting all the wonderful people that I've met @ CH.com He He He... 8)

It's nice to dream.
