Title: Is expired Imitrex safe? Post by calikat on Nov 7th, 2005, 8:39pm Hi there, I have been in remission for a few years. My last episode with clusters was back in 2001, and my doctor loaded me up with a great supply of the imitrex injectible cartridges and the injection mechanism. I held on to my supply, and have enjoyed the past few years without a single brain pain. Unfortunately, the demon returned last week and I have been suffering significantly every night for about 7 days without relief. Imitrex was the only thing that worked for me in the past. I have no insurance right now and I can't afford the imitrex pills or any other medication. I found my supply of imitrex injectible cartridges and they are expired. The date on the cartridges says March of 2002. Does anyone know if it is safe or what will happen if I inject imitrex that is past its expiration date? Any help would be much appreciated. In pain again.... Kat in San Diego :'( |
