Title: Magnesium Post by chyuck on Aug 7th, 2005, 11:51pm Imitrex stops my headaches, but I found that magnesium has prevented my headaches. I added about 400mg to my diet that is high in vegetables and dark leafy vegies anyway. I can only surmise that a sinus infection I had that required antibiotics may have brought me below a threshhold for magnesium and triggered my headaches. Anyway, it has been one full week without cluster headaches. :) |

Title: Re: Magnesium Post by nani on Aug 8th, 2005, 12:34am It's great that it's working for you! I've heard of others who've had success with either IV magnesium or very high doses. Here's what our knowledgeable member Floridian says about it: http://med-owl.com/clusterheadaches/tiki-index.php?page=Magnesium&PHPSESSID=f83ad31a5fcd186371de722655fb55b9 :) pain free wishes, nani |

Title: Re: Magnesium Post by Salvelinus on Aug 16th, 2005, 9:24pm That's a great idea. I just read that link about an hour ago! [smiley=laugh.gif] chyuck--may I ask where you get your magnesium? I wonder if there is a difference between GNC and the local supermarket brand . . . . Namaste, --Scott |

Title: Re: Magnesium Post by CHTom on Aug 16th, 2005, 11:10pm Just make sure that you don't buy it from a chemical supply store and drink it down with water. |

Title: Re: Magnesium Post by chyuck on Aug 17th, 2005, 9:10pm I use something called Natural CALM Magnesium--It's a powder and easily absorbable. You can search the internet and easily find it. ;) |
