Title: Re: Zomig Post by E-Double on Jun 25th, 2005, 9:13am We're all different. Some swear by it and others find it ineffective....... I only tried it when I participated in the clinical trials of NECH. 1 placebo, 1: 5mg, & 1: 10 mg The only one that did a thing was the 10mg and that sent me on a triptan ride of hair and flesh on fire. It was comparable to taking a full 6mg of imitrex vial. Too much for me and it gave me a sore throat for a week.....but with practice I am told that you get minimal drainage and get used to the throat irritation if you get it at all. Sorry not too much help E 2 |

Title: Re: Zomig Post by Karla on Jun 25th, 2005, 1:54pm I use the imitrix nasal spray 20mg and find it just as effective as the shot. By 10 min. my ha is gone! I hate needles. I do suffer from nasal drainage a bit from it so I just drink a coke after I snort and all is well. I don't taste the drainage and it doesn't bother me. I have heard good reports about the zomig ns as well. If zomig doesn't work for you ask to try imitrix. Good luck! |

Title: Re: Zomig Post by Bob_Johnson on Jun 25th, 2005, 2:25pm Much good infomation in this long piece. http://www.headachedrugs.com/pdf/HA2005.pdf Read all the material, even sections on migraine. Material which important to cluster folks is sometimes also common to migraine. |

Best that you let us know how it works for you. E-Double's statement is true - We're all different. I sincerely hope Zomig works for you but if it doesn't keep lookin for something that does. It can be frustrating to find the right med./therapy mix that helps control these things but hang in there. You're going through a process of elimination - keep good records of results for later use. Title: Re: Zomig Post by Gator on Jun 27th, 2005, 1:33am Zomig Nasal worked like a champ for me. Killed an attack in about 7 minutes. I'd still be taking it today if it weren't for my insurance company. Imitrex Nasal 20mg kind of works for me. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes for the pain to slowly drain away. I currently use the Imitrex injections and find I can abort most attacks with 3mg in about 5 minutes or so. The only way to know if it will work for you is to try it. |

Title: Re: Zomig Post by birdman on Jun 27th, 2005, 10:36am I had same results as Gator. Insurance would only give me six a month though. Stock up when not in cycle. I switch between Imitrex Injections and Zomig nasal. Never together. Good luck and keep posting! |
