Title: For Those Who Have Had Success With Verapamil

How long did you have to take it before you noticed any change in your CH?

I've been on it about a month, now at 480mg/day, and really haven't seen much change.

Should have kicked in by now.  Verap didnt work for me either, until I cocktailed it with the timed released Naproxen.  Despite several in here's opinion that this is not a proven strategy, it worked for me..and another.  If there is one thing that I have seen in 20 years of this sh-t, and after scanning this board, there are no rules and no two circumstances alike.  What works for one, may not for another, and what works for one once, may not the next time.

Verapamil worked for me a week after I increased the dose from 480mg to 600mg/day, taking Melatonin 6-9mg/day with the verap.

I just started Melatonin so I'll see how it goes.  I'm a little reluctant to up the Verap (above 480) without a Doctor's say so.  One plus, my BP is finally in the normal range after years of high BP.......

I understand your reluctance, my neuro said get an EKG every time you increase a verap dosage above 480mg.

It also brought my BP down to normal levels after years of high BP.

Good luck, Mike.

Try a Lithobid - Vereapamil combo 480-720 / 600-900, works for many.

From Rx List:

Quote:
Concurrent use of calcium channel blocking agents with lithium may increase the risk of neurotoxicity in the form of ataxia, tremors, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and/or tinnitus. Caution is recommended.

Didn't really do much for Mike until he ramped up to 720mgs a day and combined it with lithium.

Now, lithium alone at a much smaller dose is keeping things at bay for him.

400mg didn't work with me, but 600mg was the amount which did wonders for me. And with NO side effects! :)
