Has anyone used paxyl during a bout to combat short temper or anxiety? Just wondering my wife has a script for this and just keeps it on hand for her bad times then a few days later stop taking. I know it is not the best way to use these meds. however she does not want to be on it constantly. please advise. if during cycle if these type of drugs will worsen the CH.

It takes weeks for Paxil to build up in your system. If she is taking it sporadically then its a waste of time.

can not help with the interaction...but do know it takes some buildup time. My wife had been on it....doing great, but read some negative things about it, and wanted to get off of it. Doc. gave her something else and said just stop taking paxil....BIG MISTAKE. We finally found a website on how to SLOWLY taper off of it with the liquid version. She was not on alot, dosage wise either. If your wife happens to get enough in her system for a build up....be SURE she tapers off of it.

Do a search on paxil for message boards..many others have had the same issues with tapering off of it. I can not remember which site it was.....but they recommended other stuff that was much safer to be on.

I have taken celexa 40mg and effexor 300mg for anxiety. Didn't help much. I take xanax now and it helps alot better. The antidepressents didn't help my ch or worsen it.
