Title: Kudzu - best type determined yet?
Post by sgarner on Apr 17th, 2005, 12:08am
I am on 480 mgs of verapamil per day.  Should I talk to the doc before I start the Kudzu?

(By type I mean the specific brand, etc. that I could buy at a walmart or vitamin place.)

Before you decide to try kudzu, please look here and read all the related threads - there are links in this one):

There are probably 4 different kids of kudzu being tested, there isn't any info on which is more effective. Testers report the brand that they are using. I take 360 mgs of verapamil a day, but I have high blood pressure. There have been 2 reports of serious side effects when kudzu is used along with verap and imitrex. Inform yourself, talk to your dr and/or pharmacist....good luck and pain free wishes, nani

I don't think that a "best type" has been determined.  I have used the Solaray brand, and have found it to work nicely for me.  Others take Nature's way, and Planetary Formulas.  Success has been reported with each.

Check out floridian's site:

And please consider interactions and side effects.  I posted on your other thread as well, in the Cluster Headache Specific Section.

Hope you find relief soon,

Casey

By the way.. the number of replies to the Kuzdu survey has not moved for quite some time... 32 replies.

That does not seem like a lot yet.

Are people not reporting their progress on it? Maybe somewhere else?

Oh gosh, I feel a bit like my manager asking "Who has not filled his timesheets this week"?
