Title: Weird question of the Day??? Post by Kim Y. on Mar 11th, 2005, 11:34am Yesturday I had some sharp pains that act like the start of another episode and again today my head is getting sharp jabs of pain. I have a little worry I am afraid to take Imitrex inject for fear that I may be Pregnant. Wonder if I was still in cycle and just recently got pregnant could it still be possible to have CH attacks? |

Title: Re: Weird question of the Day??? Post by Kim Y. on Mar 11th, 2005, 1:30pm Let me start from the begining. I got this last year in April I had sever bad attacks all day long. I went to a clinic the Dx with migraine and gave me Imitrex pills and the HA laughed at it. Went and got a primary Dr. after I had to make a trip to the ER because all I could do is cry I rocked I pressed on the side of my head and balled some more my bad attacks last 2 hours. I was never pain free though. At the Primary he Dx me with Greater Occipital Nephropathy perscribed vioxx, then indocine, the neurotin, and Gabitral which was generic for Neurotin. The neurotin dulled it some but I couldn't afford the amount I had to take which was 1200mg in one day. The Generic didn't help and it was back full force. Then in Aug. it slowly faded away. This last Nov. It start to reappear just same way it did before. At scheduled hours 530pm, 830pm, and 10pm that get worse as the hours pass. In between that though I am in the shadows it just whispers that it is still there. Then a few days later I start all over again building up. I get the stabbing pain in my head on and off and builds till the bad one. I don't get any nausea, I get stuffy nose on the left side and tear pressure in the Left eye, I don't have light sensitivity and the only odor that sets me off is cigarett smell. I think the Verap. helps to bring the number of attacks I get I just think my dose is to low 120mg and I just simply hate the way Imitrex makes me feel but take it if I have to except for the last few days since I am questioning being pregnant. Melatonin help with sleep at night. Ok please tell me that I am in the right place or I will cry because I have no where else to turn. :'( |

Title: Re: Weird question of the Day??? Post by guesst on Mar 11th, 2005, 1:31pm Have you tried O2? |
||
Title: Re: Weird question of the Day??? Post by nani on Mar 11th, 2005, 1:35pm Kim...you could have CH and CPH. Describe the icepick pains to your dr. Indomethacin is very effective for CPH and rarely effective on CH. The stabbing pains you described here sound a bit more like CPH. I didn't mean to imply that you're in the wrong place, hun. |

Title: Re: Weird question of the Day??? Post by Kim Y. on Mar 11th, 2005, 1:44pm Yes I am also using the O2. I think it isn't high enough in liters though have to get with Dr. Nani, I know you didn't mean anything by that its just now I feel as though I am miss DX again and very flustered. I am tired of dealing with this ::) |

Maybe you ought to resolve the pregnancy (http://www.americarx.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3379)issue before you do anything else. Just a thought. RJ |

Like quite a few poeple here I have Cluster HA and some other $hit going on as well. Primary HA is clusters but I also get "zaps"..... Going by what you described.....it sounds like PH: paroxysmal hemicrania.......I would say EPH (like clusters can be chronic (CPH) or episodic (EPH) You can have both!!! PH will be responsive to indomethacin/indocin......very quickly!! It won't touch the clusters but will help those "mini CH's" They are also extremely painful but the duration is much shorter!!!!! Hang in there! Eric |

Title: Re: Weird question of the Day??? Post by Kim Y. on Mar 11th, 2005, 2:00pm Yah waiting a few a week before jumping the gun on the pregnancy issue. I just have been having the bad episodes at 530,8ish and 9-10ish never looked at the clock much yesturday at work but know abouts. I am getting the zaps off and on this morning and that usually is my good indicator is by how strong the zap gets tells me how strong the episode may be later. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but its how mine works... Thanks for the help everyone |
