Title: Medication Post by ghkuhn on Feb 15th, 2005, 3:27pm My husband has been suffered w/ these headaches for 4 years. He has chronic cluster h/a's. There were always more days w/ the headaches than w/out. Most of the time it is at least 2-3 a day on good days, 8-10 on bad. Many medications later, he has started taking a blood pressure medication - 300 mg Verelan PM once a day before bed. He began this medication on Jan 28, '05 and can say he has had more non-headache days than headache. And when he does get a headache, he goes to the oxegyn and is on it for 10 minutes tops. We never know what tomorrow brings, but I know he is very thankful for the past 2 weeks of sleeping through the night. Maybe this is the one - if not we'll take what we get. |

Title: Re: Medication Post by Kris_in_SJ on Feb 15th, 2005, 8:43pm Welcome, So glad your hubby is getting some PF time. Verapamil in high doses tends to work well for many. I take 480mg/day when in cycle - others take even more. Your next challenge - get him to visit this board. He'll learn, get the support of others who suffer, and make new friends as well. Glad you found us. Many hugs to you both, Kris |
