Title: Nadolol or Corgard question
Post by toolong on Jan 29th, 2005, 10:51am
Changed meds around quite a bit lately. Dr.added Nadolol generic for Corgard, and Voltaren to replace my Inderal LA.The problem is that I'm so friggin' tired all the time I could sleep all day.Not a good thing when I work 6 days a week.Any suggestions to what I could recommend to replace these drugs with something that won't have so many side effects? My doc believes that if they are working (they are) to reduce my CH attacks I should stay with them.Help!! :PDavid

Hi David,

Corgard is a beta blocker med given frequently for high blood pressure.  According to the med profile, it is also sometimes useful in "preventing migraine attacks."  I'm not sure why it might make you feel tired unless it is lowering your B/P more than normal.

Have you taken Verapamil?  Calcium channel-blockers are usually more effective for clusters than beta-blockers and don't lower the B/P quite so much.  Personally, I've also found Inderal to be totally ineffective on my clusters.  You might want to take a look at this link.  It might help.
