Title: Imitrex injections and flying? Post by Ann9900 on Jan 14th, 2005, 7:29pm Has anyone experienced a problem traveling with imitrex injections (the stat pen)? Any issues with airport security during the xray process? (They took fingernail clippers away from my 60-year-old mother when we were on our way to my grandma's funeral.) Is there any documentation required to carry it with you on a plane? My prescription label is on the box, but not on the carrying case. Just wondering... |

Title: Re: Imitrex injections and flying? Post by Ann9900 on Jan 15th, 2005, 10:45am Thanks! Given that we have to educate our Drs., insurance companies, co-workers, spouses and whoever else about CHs, I just thought that the average airport security person wouldn't understand why I'd be upset if they took my imitrex from me. |

Title: Re: Imitrex injections and flying? Post by Rock_Lobster on Jan 15th, 2005, 11:24am I would not take enough with that I would get brutally upset about losing them. And if I were smack in the middle of a cycle and could not live without them for a day I would most likely have a Dr's letter along saying that they are AOK. Then I always have a few Trex tablets (better than nothing) somewhere in my pack. |

Title: Re: Imitrex injections and flying? Post by IrnBru on Jan 18th, 2005, 6:52am I flew from Manchester UK to Maldives and was told to put them in my luggage that was going in the hold, I could have taken them on the flight as hand luggage with a letter from my GP and given them to a flight attendant who would let me have them during an attack, with the captains permission!! Better safe than sorry If you got one out over a flight in the USA on eof th eflight marshalls may get angry! Jim |
