Title: Things not to do or to do during an attack! Post by survivor13 on Dec 12th, 2004, 8:07pm Several things i've noticed that either intensify the pain or pro-long the attack! I don't: try to blow my nose on the side of my head where the pain is (pain gets much worse). I don't grind or clutch my teeth! same results. I do use finger induced gagging (sometimes will help abort) if not, i go for the Anti-Demon kit. Add to the list sure everyone knows something that can help! |

Title: Re: Things not to do or to do during an attack! Post by Bob_Johnson on Dec 15th, 2004, 8:52am I'm with you in not moving, pacing about, etc. The best thing for me is to sit in a comfortable, supportive chair (high back) and get my body so balanced that I can relax all muscles. While it's hard during the peak of the attack, it's helpful to get into a meditative state--at least try and relax and move in that direction! I want the room to be as dark and quiet as possible. |

Title: Re: Things not to do or to do during an attack! Post by Langa on Dec 16th, 2004, 2:52pm It depends on the severity of the attack. With anything under a kip 6, I can do sitting back, relaxing my body and meditating technique. Anything higher and I have to pace. With a full blown attack, sometimes inducing myself to vomit will help the severity of the pain. I can never blow my nose. Also, very hot showers help sometimes. Langa |
