Title: Me Again!?! Post by ClusterCowboy on Dec 5th, 2004, 7:23pm :-/Sorry to sound like a DA, but...I'm new with this O2 thing... I finally got my own O2 cylinder...I used it the other night on 15 ml for 10 minutes as prescribed. It didn't work as well as it did the night I got it in ER. Is there another dose of O2 that works better? 2 docs have told me "no more than 10 minutes"...why? Thanks to you all! :) |

Title: Re: Me Again!?! Post by BobG on Dec 5th, 2004, 7:46pm Do you start the O2 at the first twing of an attack? And continue sucking for at least 5 minutes after the pain has gone? Are you using a Non-rebreather mask? Does your mask look like this one? http://www.headachesupportgroups.com/oxygen/nonrebreather.JPG Why did the doc say no more than 10 minutes? 2 reasons: 1. He's an idiot and knows nothing about O2 therapy 2. Because he is afraid of a law suit if you dry out your throat. There is very little chance of that happening after only 10 minutes. Have you clicked the 'oxygen info' button on the left side of your screen? Good information there. Please let us know how you're doing.you |
