Title: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by byoung111 on Dec 3rd, 2004, 4:49pm I was wondering if anyone has found a place the injection works better. I'm contemplating shooting it in my temple figuring it's close to the pain and couldn't hurt any more. ;) What works for you? Brian |

Title: Re: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by marlin on Dec 4th, 2004, 9:29am Temple? Man, be sure to write a will first. I've tried a lot of injection sites over the years and the shoulder still seems to still work best. Quick response, barely feel it and almost never bruises... |

Title: Re: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by becky8 on Dec 4th, 2004, 10:12pm Dude, Are you gonna use the trex tip? Cause if your not, you will be sorry cause that injector hurts like hell. I have vials and have needles and I shoot back of bicep and go in alittle sideways (not straight down). |

Title: Re: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by byoung111 on Dec 5th, 2004, 10:58am I though about using the trex tip, but I decided that I would use the whole injection first to see if it even worked. I had an attack a couple of hours ago and used the injection. I shot it in my thigh. I didn't feel anything from the needle, but it stung a little afterwards. It brought me back to the living in 15min. What a relief. Next I have to use the O2 to see if that works. Then I can try a smaller dose of the trex. Thanks everyone for your advise. Brian |

Title: Re: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by Gator on Dec 9th, 2004, 11:43am I usually inject in my stomach. I used the trex tip when I used the stat dose kits. Now I use vial and .5cc insulin syringe with 31 guage needle. No pain - no bruising and I can control the dose. 3 mg is usually all I take per attack. I don't have the trex hangover or rebounds, either. Your milage may vary. Gator Oh, yeah. If you're gonan inject in your temple, first pack up all your trex and mail it to....j/k Don't do that. |

Title: Re: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by byoung111 on Dec 9th, 2004, 1:19pm I wish I had alot of Trex to pack! My insurance only covers 2 trex kits a month or 4 1ml vials. I'm working with my Dr. to get me the vials and the Injex needless injection. The trex injector sure does a job ramming the needle and medication in. I've used the trex tip and found it works better for me too(only using half the dose). No rebounds, and no brusing. I've been sticking it in my leg, and combined with the O2 I usually get rid of it in 10 min or so. Brian |

Title: Re: Good or better place for Imitrex injection Post by jmorgan52 on Dec 10th, 2004, 4:24am Brian Don't forget to keep on filling those prescriptions for Trex even after your CH cycle ends. Then you can build up a good stockpile for a less stressful cycle next time around (sorry - but there probably WILL be a next time) Jus keep them in a dark cool place and they are good for a very long time after the official expiry date. Glad you have found some relief. John |
